I've put in a dr177 and change carb and exhaust last year and all is good but screams at top speed. So I thought I'd change the clutch with a 22tooth.But today I found that it already has a 22 tooth so I contacted my supplier who informed me I would have to change my gearing to have a 23 tooth which I not that confident in doing this.Is there a simpler way?

today changed front wheel checked hub nut and front shock bolts tight and there doesn't seem any play on the forks but handle bars still shake badly when slowing down.Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Nah I don't sit far back but I have to stick my arm out to turn right/left (no indicators) and with one hand on the bars its must look like I'm having a fit. Using my leg just looks weird. But thanks for the suggestion.

I've got the 20/20 in and setup with what I have in my spares box 118 main BE3 atomiser 160 air jet 140/45 idle .Sip exhaust, cutout air filter. The plug is dark brown but not wet as hoped for.Anyone know why and should I be concerned!

I've just fitted a dr177 but I've got to wait a bit to get a different carb.So I thought I could run it in on my 20/17 with a 118 main jet but looking at the spark plug its running a bit lean.Is this a bad idea ?

When I took off the headset of my sprint I found that a previous owner had used part of a can to packout the bottom of the headset where it joins onto the steering column. The bottom of the headset is just worn out.Is there a better way until I get round to replacing it ?

since I've put the 20/17 carb on ,I've had some issues and found so far the best setup is diffuser: E1
main jet 98 low running jet: 42
diffuser: E1
main air bleed: 140
throttle valve: No 0
starter jet: 60 I don't know why but anything larger than a 98 main jet just bogs it down

yes the one that came with the carb, don't know the size(will check) but putting the 20/20 on as advised by the scootershop now in E London was a big mistake a 80 quid mistake .I"d just got the scooter and took any advise I could get at the time. But slowly learning.

Notice a knocking and found movement on the engine mounting (tightened the bolt but no difference)Found some new rubbers described as easy to fit.How hard are they to replace does the engine have to be removed or can it be dropped to changed these rubbers?

Went out today with 100 main jet and no cover over the carb/air filter and seems to be running fine.Spark plug the correct colour.Guess its going to be a case of trying different setups.

Since my last post .I had backfiring issue and took it to hemel hempstead scooters who fitted electronic ignition which has sorted out the backfiring. But it is still running rich.(I basically run out of cash for him to continue) Its has a 20/20 Delorto carb 102 main 45/140 pilot. The guy said I should put a 50/140 pilot instead.(is this correct?) As its is running rich (black plug)I've changed main jet to 98 main jet but its still running rich .Any ideas anyone. Thanks to anyone who replies

Vespa sprint 150 69
.I've had this problem on and off all year.It all seems to be with the mixture.Spark plug is always wet when inspected. My last effort I put a new carb on main jet 102 slowrunning 42,Went out for approx 20 miles all good.Pulled over left scoot running for about 5 mins started off again 30 seconds down the road it dies.I kick it over and then it won't start just backfires.Look at the plug which is black put new one on and it starts again. This is the same issue I had with the old carb.(dellorto 20/17)Standard 1 and half turns on mixture screw 2 and a half on idle but have tried different settings to see if any difference can be made. And mixing 2% oil via jug in fuel. Any ideas anyone before I have to pay someone to look at it.

Carb rebuilt 2nd time and everything seems good.Had help.(cheers john) but neither of us could see what I'd done wrong the first attempt.Maybe the wet and dry with wd40 did the trick.Rods packed away.
