doulsy, yes, fit a carb rubber. Do you know if you have the plastic drip tray fitted under the fuel tank? You want one fitted as it affects the jetting Mij☺. Yes i have one fitted, mixture srcrew is out 3 full turns, i havent had a chance to mess about with it since the other night, halfrauds never had any plugs either

doulsy, I see your thinking here 100.8 = a true 5% of you jetting. As jets are quite cheap and cheaper then a new piston, I think I would go (just to be on the safe side 😉) 106 as a true 10% of your jetting is 105.6 (as you'll know 😉) then 104, then 102, depending how the plug looks and it feels from the seat of your pants. One way that usually shows you if your main jet is too big, is when you get to three quarters throttle, the scoot won't accelerate or go any faster if you open the throttle any further, be careful as you down jet and do plug chops. I may be playing it too safe, but that's what I'd try. All the best. Mij☺ right I went up to 100mj from 96 before I read this, it goes like funk now, very nippy and responsive, so after taking in what you said I put a 103 mj in because its the biggest I had, still runs good but not as responsive as the 100 mj, will adjusting the mixture screw help this? I never did any plug chops because I'm on my first tank of pre-mixed fuel since putting the scooter together, I will buy a new plug and do this asap, there was about a litre left in the tank tonight so I filled it up, take it it will be ok for plug chops now?

Hello, I have just put my GTS 250 through its second MOT since I bought it and have received an even stronger advisory than I had at the last MOT concerning the corrosion beneath the bike. I have been looking to see if I can purchase a plate that can be welded on beneath the bike to protect the frame and now exposed battery but have found nothing. The garage stated that the correded plate (nothing of it left really) was a 'strength' member and not just a protective plate. What do you guys usually do please? Rgds Jerry this not common with modern Vespa's ? I would get a plate made and welded in, this is why you see them selling cheap, because of rot.

The month of production should be on your logbook. As for me, I'll build mine next year and be cheeky.... 😁 As a scooterboy/hot rodder/car enthusiast/ purveyor of old sh*te, this is not a good thing. When they moved it to pre 1960, the amount of sh*t that has got onto the road that's unsafe is unreal. The government is looking at one big push to electric vehicles, what better way than giving the common man (and woman) enough rope to hang theirselves with?? Prices of parts will go up, quality will become worse, vehicles will be out priced and only for the rich to use and enjoy, while we will only see them in a museum!! I'm not looking forward to 2040..... 😐 Its the month of registration thats on the log book

This subject was discussed on another Italian scooter website forum recently. Apparently if your power to weight ratio exceeds the original spec then the exemption will not apply. Time to take off those malossi 210cc kits! My p200e is actually reged as a 125 lol

I know leccy starts must weigh a fare bit , but how much diff would it make to your speed to remove it ? Not much I bet . Each to their own etc , but I like mine for those embarasing "stalls" we all have at lights/junctions etc ! Also sometimes on mine when I use the kickstart when I'm sat on the scoot in traffic its easy to slip and catch my shin on the floorboards removing several layers of skin in the process ! Not nice ! I've got plenty of scars to prove it ! I would leave it on till its really knackered ! 👌 Cheers. im getting really fast at kick starting at the traffic lights lol

Its cool, worse case weld a new tube on, its only 2 spot welds.

doulsy, didn't mean for you to go that far mate, it was an outside chance the tab would locate if the tube had been part drilled. Try dropping the forks, take the black switch and metal steering lock off and have a look at the end of the welded on tube, it may be fine and just needing the tab from the ignition barrel seated properly. If the tube is minced, you can buy a lock complete with weld on metal tube. I would like to add, if my bad discription of a possable fix has caused you to damage your lock barrel, I would feel guilty enough to offer to pay for a replacement, Bud. All the best. Jim☺ No, if its wrecked it was wrecked before i got near it.

doulsy, sorry to say you do, mate. You could try giving the lock a hefty push from the key side , in the hope the tap on the inside catches the metal tube? tried hitting the key with a mallet, no joy, think you can buy the whole tube with barrel and lock on it, just needs a few welds, im going to look into this as a last resort.

Cant get barrel to lock in, this is my second barrel, the first one spun round and locked in, had to drill it out, the old barrel was drilled with previous owner, i wonder if the metal tube is maybe damaged, the lock works but im worried it could spin round again.

Failing that how's your rear shock? My 2014 PX used to sit with the both wheels touching the ground when on center stand, when I replaced it for a Carbone rear shock not only did it transform the ride it lifted the front wheel off the ground as per normal spec from what I can work out in pictures... lol, rear shock is a bran new carbone.
