best to phone dingbro or some other supplier, Sikaflex and tigerseal is more for bonding, you just need a seam sealer, there is plenty on the market, all do the same thing, I use brush on seam sealer from hb body I think, I just clean the excess with paint thinner on a rag.

Got to remove my floor rails for a spot of rust treatment can anyone please tell me what size pop rivets I need to replace them? TIA. Also is the factory paint on a 2012 PX 2 pack, acrylic or something else? what colour? it will be 2k laquer I guess or 2k straight colour, although legally the base should have been water based in 2012 in Europe, I think

does it have a round plug connector for the blue and black wires? if so, cut it off and use spade connectors, simple thing but saw the round connecters cause this before.

yes trying to find info on headset wiring on a European p series is tricky, at one point I could memorise it, if two wires touch anywhere, then everything is out, have you a decent quality bulb holder?

had the same bother with my 78 p200e, main cause was a sh*t bulb holder, bought a bosata one and it helped, shrink rapped all the connections and every thing was fine, posted the same question as you a few year ago and everyone was like dunno btw I hve a spare bosata headlamp and bulb.

Can anyone Help me with this ? I’m drilling my air filter, I’ve bought a selection of main jets and a BE3 atomiser, do I need to change the air corrector too ? It’s a 140. I’m new to this and learning hard and fast on the job lol ( 93 PX 125 ) I would just try upping the main jet, most people end up with a 100 main jet, what exhaust you have on it?

Thanks Doulsy, that seems to be the only way I can get this sorted ... 15 mm gap between switch & lugs .. Thanks to yourself & Mij for the help @ advice. Greatly appreciated 👍🏼 M I used a plastic spreader, cut in small strips super glued, worked great.

Thanks Mij, however no matter what way I place the white switch into the headset top, it still doesn’t catch onto the two plastic shoulders to stop it spinning inside the headset. I’m flummoxed 😶 M8, im on my third headset for my p200, 2 of them genuine, had same problem as you, cut a strip of plastic and super glue to the lugs on the underside of headset, the lugs that are supposed to stop ignition switch turning.

DVLA are a nightmare, if you had engine number with frame then you could just apply for v5 and it would cost you £25, as for nova and re-reging, they will tell you to restore it first, I have 2 vespas, took me a year to get v5 for the first one and 8 month for the second one, put me through the nova sh*t and re-reg to then tell me they can't as its already on the system, have you put the frame number into www.scooterhelp.com yet? that might give you year and model number.

might also be the wire going to bulb holder, on my t5, they are on the wrong way round and dipped is full beam and vice versa, just another option to check.

Thought you had your heart set on a kit, so was just pointing out things to consider, if you don't you could do a compression test to see if it needs new piston rings or a rebore,I o'tuned my own P200e engine in the hope the rebuilt standard engine and gearbox could take it, as I know if I kit it, the sensible thing to do is fit the later gearbox. Ride safe. Mij☺ is all really worth the hassle, I have an early p200 engine, Its great but the brakes are total sh!te, I don't fancy trying to stop my p200 if it went any faster, its great about town and great for a run to the coast, infact its perfect, its interesting to mess about tuning though, I have some spare casings and I'm thinking what to do but my p200 will be left stock.

I also have a 1978 p200e, my advice is to keep it the way it is, is it worth all the money and hassle?, just stick your sip2 on, drill your filter and re-jet, btw this is the advice I got on here when I was rebuilding my engine, I was gonna kit it and ended up keeping it stock for reliability.

I am not sure this is 100% legal but my mate had someone crash into the back of his car, he did not tell his own insurance, and told the other party who were to blame that his insurance was 3rd party only and claimed the other guys insurance. The reason for not telling his own insurance was even though he had a no fault accident his insurance would still go up as statistically if you have been in an accident then you are more likely to have another or some pish like that. They paid out for a repair. You were lucky no police involved as they check cbt etc. I know more guys riding around on CBT than full licence! and this leads to px200 logged as 125 on v5 etc etc I don't believe you know anyone riding a px200 reg'ed as a 125, I hear the police are gonna clamp down on the cbt thing this year, I did mine again a few month ago, real pain in the A

I'm no expert but I have been through this last year with my p200e, you could still try a bigger jet, what carb do you have? dellorto or spaco? I had tons of hassle, got it running great then had problem, eventually a new carb and my mixture screw sorted it, I followed the guides on scooterhelp, basicly turning my mix screw until throttle was most responsive, think a lot is down to your carb.

i think 118 is the standard mj on my p200, I'm running I 122 mj with my sito plus, pretty sure you should be running a bigger jet, have you checked your plug colour?

got a disc setup for my t5 classic and was also gonna add an electric start, anyone did this? is it a new custom loom or just a case of adding additional wiring? the engine I have is a px125my so has a starter, can I still call it a t5 classic lol

the sito+ is a really bad fit, I fitted one to my p200e, I got it cheap from a poster on here, been decent since fitted and I don't get all the negativity about the sito+ apart from the fitting issue, have a sip 2 on my 125 and that's a good exhaust as well, I doubt there is really much difference between them but I'm no expert.

By way of an update; I went to my local scooter shop with a view to getting some new barrels and some tips on getting the old ones out. Wasn't until I mentioned that I needed 3 barrels as the seat lock was still in situ that he said, and I quote "you're a dick, take the seat lock to a locksmith and he'll cut you a new key"! That's what I did, and a tenner later I have 3 keys and am back on the road. Thanks to all for their tuppence worth lol, nice one

Thanks, Jim, I've found 3 barrels with 2 keys for £13 delivered. The question now is, how easy is it to remove the old barrels and replace them? The manual suggests the ignition one is released by removing one screw from the housing which can be accessed once the horncover is removed. Does that sound about right? I'm in new territory here, so any advice would be appreciated. I'm having some bother replacing locks just now, mine were all missing on my latest project, the rms barrel kit look ok, I would stay well clear of indian ones
