your wheel rims might be bent. check these. Also check your rear wheel as well whilst its on the hub, then remove and try it on the front hub. These checks should confirm if the rims are out of alignment. You might need to buy a new set of rims

This used to happen to me, every time I tried to start my P200e. After cutting off the fuel before switching off it hasnt happened in a while.

check your wires first - give them a little shake, this sometimes solves the problem

Im assuming your oil jug is marked out at 2% intervals, so for every litre of petrol you put in your tank you need to put the corresponding amount of oil from the little jug. The trick is knowing exactly how much petrol you have put in. Since you have a kitted motor you might be on a 3% mix, so half as much again. i would advise using semi-synthetic or fully synthetic 2 stroke oil - the brand is up to you. hope this helps

Just bought Pink Floyd,The Division Bell on 180 gram vinyl and The Doors, LA Woman vinyl LP. Listening to Grace Jones/Nightclubbing on vinyl, quality sound and production by Chris Blackwell and Alex Sadkin 👌. Happy listening. Mij☺ If you like the Division Bell, then you need to get the endless river - ambient instrumental out-takes form the same recording sessions as the D.B.

Yes you are right, the very early "New Line" vespas didnt have indicators. You can see this on early sales promo material. There are not many about though, you may be waiting a long time till one comes up. I taped over my indicators on my '78 P200e for the MOT when they were not working once. The tester just said " indicators not needed since it is pre-'86" and gave me a pass certificate.
Yes ironsloth, you are welcome to have second dibs on the forks if phattanglo doesnt want them.

Im in the process of upgrading my P200e forks to disc brake, and have bough an LML disc fork with the traditinal round hub for £300. So in a couple of weeks I will have a set of P200e 1978, 16mm forks with a new Escort shock absorber, a front hub and brake shoes that were new last year and have done about 100 miles, and a new spare speedo worm. Yours for £90 if you are interested. Citydaz

conversely, you will be disappointed by the actual recorded top speed, which will force you into shelling out for more upgrades, tuning etc etc

Changing the "tone" of the thread back to where it started, (geddit?), Ive scored a major success with my daughter who is 11, she has just declared she wants to buy a record player - it will have to be a cheapo basic one, and some of "those black circle things" The Jam songs "Malice", "Underground" and "the train station".
Gonna have to keep my vinyl under lock and key from now on........

Hi martino, Im upgrading the front forks on my '78 mk1 P200e to 20mm and disc brake in the next month or so, so the old 16mm forks, (and a new front shocker) will be surplus to requirements. You can have first dibs if you want for a modest fee. let me know if you could be interested cheers Citydaz Hey Citydaz, thanks for keeping me in mind, but I'm not in the states, so the freight costs wouldn't be worth it to get them here. Thanks anyway, appreciate the offer. Im not in the states neither. Im just south of Manchester

back in the day i used to use some of my dads car engine oil which I found in his garage.
Now I use a Castrol oil which is recommended for my car 0w30 grade. I dont think it matters too much unless your engine is highly tuned.
I use Rock Oil ST90 for my other scooter, Lambretta 186cc.
