hi, as joey said make sure all the jets have been blown through ive just ha a similar problem with my p2 every time i leave the petrol tap on it floods i replaced the float & needle and it was still the same so i cut a small piece of old aluminium from an old gasket and superglued it in the slot on the float so it just pushes it home more tightly and hey presto perfect on motorbikes they have whats called a brass tong and you can bend it basically thats the equivalent what i done remember a float works in the same way as a ballc**k in a cystern if you bend the arm it shuts off the water quicker ,hope this helps ferdy

i cant believe how much attention scooterists make to sun dance grips i think they are horrid but thats my opinion there are a lot better on the market for instance my scoot is fully airbrushed liverpol fc yet were ever i go people comment on the grips and they were from a motorcycle shop there in a red candy twist and come in several colours i think they were about 12 quid very comfortable and to the eye look great and no broken rubber rings i bet they make more money replacing the rings cheers ferdy

i agree with spence on sundance grips also the rubber rings are a pain when they snap / another tip when fitting bog standard rubber grips spray a bit of aerosol spray paint inside then push on then the paint act as a lubricant then sets like glue it works perfect

hi, ive restored a lot of scoots even spencers sprint if this was mine i would look at 3 options either as you said just fill it and take your time to get it right or find a donor frame cut it out and weld it on, or look for some sort of vintage horncast that you could fit like a px pe model if you got the right one it would be a nice extra hope this helps ferdy .owe by the way spence ive had pc probs thats were ive been all up and running again

it aint yeah auto;lube if it was you would get it driiping from the top of engine or coming threw your back end floor board and you would know by the colour of the oil etc red or could be petrol leaking down from carb as it travells it picks up crap from outer engine which will produce gunk mine has done it ,ferdy shed of shame sc

thats good to here as its a ball breakin job stripping by hand if you ever use those wire discs that go in electric drill always make sure there the soft brass ones which are softer metal than your frame i rememember back in the 80s a mate of mine totally stripped his rally 200 with a extra hard metal wire disc it certainly done the job but even about 20 coats of paint would cover the scratches it looked like torvill n dean had had a go, anyway good luck on its rebuild what paint are you going to use ,2k is the best very hard wearing cheers ferdy

hi, jaz as a paint sprayer myself you shoulden really use scrapers wire discs etc as ive seen some horrible results in scratched metal that shows through the paint and as for painf stripper a waste of time and money its easier and cheaper to get the thing blasted all comes up like new it will even get rid of any rust hope this helps ferdy,
