Hello Again,
Thanks for the help with the mudflap situation......I now have another problem. I've got some new grips for my PX but cannot for the life of me work out how to swap them for the ones on there at the moment.
Brute force thus far has failed and I cannot see a retainer screw. Sure its something very simple (again).
Any ideas? ;D

I am thinking of replacing my stock grips soon with some sundance ones. As far as I'm aware the stock grips are just glued on and require brute force and possibly the help of a hairdryer (to gently soften the glue) to remove. Hope this helps.

Sundance grips are a matter of personal taste. They look great on a custom scooter, but bear in mind that they can make your hands very cold because they're 50% metal.

Good point Spence, I hardly ever ride without my gloves on though. Its either the sundance grips or some tasteful black/grey motocross type.

The person that told me his Sundance grips made his hands cold always wears gloves too.

Well, I'm not trying to put down Sundance grips - like I said, I think they look really smart on a custom. But I won a set in a raffle once and promptly sold them on eBay based on what my mate Keith had said..

I've got to say that's not a problem that I've ever experienced. I think that may be more a reflection on his gloves, rather than the grips.

i agree with spence on sundance grips also the rubber rings are a pain when they snap / another tip when fitting bog standard rubber grips spray a bit of aerosol spray paint inside then push on then the paint act as a lubricant then sets like glue it works perfect

Toptiptastic mate!
Where's the Shed of Shame been lately? You've been quiet.

The only use for sundance grips is as a bearing drift, they freeze your hands, fall off at the most inopportune moments (the grub screws work loose,) and, as has already been pointed out, once the O rings start to go they even look cak! New style standard grips are the best I've come across so far, petrol resistant, comfortable and look quite good. But each to their own.................

That's it. If Joey doesn't like them, I don't feel bad about saying I don't like them now.

The summer before last (not that we actually had one last time round) my left grip kept sliding off all the time as the heat was metling the glue, that was fun changing gear!

I can only speak from my own experience, and I've honestly never had any hand freezing problems from my sundance grips. Also, I sank the grub screws on mine into masking tape, and I've never had them come loose....yet.
Having said this, I'm right behind any 'Joey For President' campaign ;D

I had sundance on my T5 rubbers were brill, never snapped, no problems and they were not cold. Just bought new ones for my P2 and all the rubbers spin. I too think the new standards are the way to go.

When I replaced my standard PX grips I had to stanley knife them off.
I fitted sundance grips and have never had a problem with them being cold as I always wear gloves and no problem with the rings. As far as the grub screws go, I put some gaffa tape on first, then the grips

Anyone try using sundance grips without gloves? Then you've probably got black stripy hands like me then!

i cant believe how much attention scooterists make to sun dance grips i think they are horrid but thats my opinion there are a lot better on the market for instance my scoot is fully airbrushed liverpol fc yet were ever i go people comment on the grips and they were from a motorcycle shop there in a red candy twist and come in several colours i think they were about 12 quid very comfortable and to the eye look great and no broken rubber rings i bet they make more money replacing the rings cheers ferdy
