yes and yes (if u want all the sip fixings, separate dedicated seat pad etc). they appear to have a very limited seating area which looks great but I imagine is she height for any distance. I've seen one that someone carved from a solid piece of wood and then marine varnished it and fixed to frame with a couiple of DZU fasteners. It looked great and probably cost a tenth of the SIP product

once again baz its all speculation, but you need to elimiinate things like blockages, sh*t in the tank , badly routed fuel pipe etc etc. If it is running too lean then i would suspect that more than doubling the cc's and keeping the same pilot jet in the carb would hamper tickover. But you say it was running ok prior to this? Are you getting a healthy spark ?

kickstart has a quadrant toothed cog leading to a small primary cog and spring, which both sit on the shaft of the clutch bell. Disconnect clutch cable, does it still slip ? If not then cable was too tight or maybe plates goosed/contaminated . If it does still slip then suspect a prob round the aforementioned items. Yor assumptions are completely correct re clutch to crank and kickstart engagement. Hard to say 100% without actually seeing the engine. good luck and don't forget www.smallframes.com for additional tips and help

vbb, gl,gs & bajaj all use the same clam-shell. If you want ur original sorting try contacting Jem Booth as he is a bit of a whizz at restoring speedos.
Southport sandgrounders will have his contact number

Try Len Tuner for the chrome legshield trim, its a simple push fit, with a little brute force thrown in for good measureand is held in plac with small cross head screws . The standard metallic factory trim needs a special rolling tool to be done properly. Check there is a metal lip still present underneath your rubber trim.

If you take P2 with a scorpion or SIP type expansion chamber, it will rev out a lot higher when permitted to by the gearing. This ability to rev is governed by the length and taper of the header pipe and overall size of the resonance expansion chamber. A lot of vespas experience a large 3rd to 4th jump and a subsequent drop in the rev range, taking them too far out of any potential powerband ( T5 can be an exception here).
Port timings on standard barrels and size of transfer areas can't really take advantage of proper expansion chambers. However if a T5 or shorter4th gear is fitted then this power loss is greatly reduced and whereas your scooter may appear slower on a gearing calculator (ie reduced top speed in 4th) , in the real world of headwinds, hills and 2up riding, the motor will actually pull better and create more power.
GOOD GOD I'VE EVEN MANAGED TO BORE MYSELF

an oildrip from kickstart = kickstart oil seal has gone.
clutch - could be worn plates or a nice oily cable clamp nut loosening off.
can't get neutral - if its a smallframe gear selector springs or clutch sliding dog may be worn. if its a px then it has probably turned into a lammy LOL
good luck .Ps wots happenin sunday

top speed is limited by the minimal port layout and the puny single transfer port in the baseof the barrel

if batts fully charged then the solenoid in the starter should fire the starter cog against the flywheel. Just a click suggests a flat batt or dodgy solenoid

assuming its all jetted correctly, then original spec dictates air screw is set up to 2.5 turns for most climates. What probs do you have ?

without hearing engine it could be a multitude of things but let me kick off with one suggestion.
The gear selector arm has a pin in the bottom of it and this pin has worked loose allowing a light ratling of the arm and thus very slightly selecting your gears. As I say its just a suggestion and it could be flywheel bearing or any number of probs but I thought I'd kick this one off for you GOOD LUCK

You want an "injector" type two stroke. TTS and Rock Oil Synthesis 2 are both great fully synthetic oils, both helping reduce the buildup of carbon and producing a cleaner burn. However if your engine is standard then a semi synth is more than capable and saves you wasting your hard earned reddies. IMHO of course
