Should be smooth up to 70 or so on the clock.. What's the state of the exhaust? if it's a bit old and coked up worth taking off filling with a caustic soda mix overnight to de-coke it. I'd also suggest whip the head off and give that and the piston and exhaust port a de-coke if it's not been done for a long time, check the condition of the barrel and rings whilst you are in there.. Clean out the fuel and air filer, should be good as new

top speed is limited by the minimal port layout and the puny single transfer port in the baseof the barrel

before the kit i installed, my PX would reach 100 kph or 110 on a long road...
with the simonini exhaust and a pinasco 215 kit my vespa can reach 100 kph very easily (well ..relative to the standard vespa...) and i can see 120 on the speedo if i insist.
any way, watch the speed on hot days...

Try both the ports and the exhaust, should plateau at the top end rather than shudder " as if it has more to give".....
Get yer jets out for the lads - and post the numbers on both small and large...
