Might as well order them direct to be honest:- www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/checker-floor-plates-sip_50311000Discount code is: HAPPY2024 This gives you 5%, it’s not a lot, but it’s better off in your pocket. Plus if you keep your total order under £130, you shouldn’t have to pay vat as it comes under the threshold. Plus their delivery times are bloody quick!!

As you all slide down the bannister of life, may the splinters run the opposite way… 🤣

Would get it set up on a dyno if there is one near you. Lincs Lambrettas have one, it’s in Saracens Head, Lincolnshire. Couldn’t get a better bloke to dyno it to be honest.

You flash Git!! 😁 I’ve been trying to build a cutdown over the last year, with both myself and my welder being in hospital at different times, we achieved next to sod all… Next year, I’m hoping to have two built, one cutdown and one streeeetch chop frame. They won’t be anywhere near as quick as yours, more like tortoise corpse speed… 🤣 (before anyone says owt, both frames had already seen an auto butcher before me. One had been cut in half, hence the stretch frame… Some people aye… )🤠

Interesting, what ones did you use? Personally I find that the PX doesn’t vibrate too much, and I suffer with Raynaud’s phenomenon.

You forgot one thing… Go on slight diet… 😁 On a serious note, I would fit a fibreglass mudguard too. Whether it’s a full one or a hugger, the weight (and rust!) saving is pretty good, and they are cheap.

Do you plan to do any other modifications to it? If not, stick with the standard 57mm cast crank, I kept the standard one in mine, and I ran a Malossi and a Polini kit in the same lump. If you are doing other tuning parts too, then go for the 60mm, and pack it out. Still not worth the extra wedge for the race crank personally.

I wouldn’t try to touch it with my hand while running, but I know for certain, it’s too hot to lick it… 🫠

Speak to the Vespa club of Britain, they should be able to help you. vespaclub.uk/I admit, personally I think they are next step to f**king useless (asked them for help over the years), but I know other people have had good experiences with them… 🤠

Hi and welcome. First of all, by saying wee scoot, you must be a northerner, plenty of them on here…. 🤠 And as for the dodgy wiring, you have an Aprilia, you should be used to it! 🤣 On a serious note, see this link below:/ www.scooterhelp.com/serial/service.VNX1T.VSX1T.htmlThis is for an older P range model, but it will give you a guideline at least. I wouldn’t worry about the electric start (assuming it’s got one), just start with the usual, fuel, spark etc. and try to kick it over.

I used to do a hell of a lot of miles on the sloth, and I’ve used various oils:- Putoline, PJ1, Halfords own, Rock Oil, but for my style of riding, it has to be a semi synthetic, chainsaw oil. As used in fully fledged race tuned scoots, also Lincs Lambrettas are a dealer (I’m about 2 miles from the shop…) and I trust his knowledge on it. I’ve had several ‘mishaps’ with my scoot, and this one has stood the test of time. But, the choice is yours, as this is always an ongoing debate on who runs what and how… Just don’t pay a bloody fortune, and that strawberry scented Putoline smells bloody awful… 🤣

Thinking about it, I had this happen to me before, but it was a few years ago, and turned out to be a dodgy built batch.

Hi and welcome. Unless you’re willing to go for an import that needs a full resto, it’s going to be a few quid I’m afraid. Or you could go for a cheap P range and fit the GS bodykit, best of both worlds then. 10 inch wheels, reliable engine, cheaper parts, 4 gears, front disc brake, with the looks of the GS. 🤓

Hi and welcome. Would call you a turncoat, but I get it, my Sloth has been laid up for a few years now, she’s a 06 PX, and I’m it’s only owner, but it’s fooooked… 🫠🤣 She will get rebuilt mind.

I’ve no idea. Personally I wouldn’t bother, I nearly fitted a bar end indicators that I found, but then thought better of it. Not my cup of tea really… 🤔
