hi, changed the plug, old one was covered in carbon bits, so hoovered out inside the head!! also made the hole in the fuel cap bigger. going fine now. wheeeee!!

hi all, i have just fitted a fast flow bgm tap to my dr180 with 24mm carb vespa. it has started popping and loudly backfiring when it gets into 4th and seems to die a little. then it starts to go realy well?? any ideas.

funny ,but im just about to change the stator from the new multi coil jobby to a normal 5 coil one. see how it goes and will report back.

is there any way to test a px fuel sender( the later white plastic one?? mine only goes up to half now even when full. tried another but that just got to 3/4 and stayed ther even when the tank was nearly empty.

hi all my vespa pals. my vespahas started being silly!! when i start slowing down , then pull on the throttle yo accelerate it backfires and sounds like its gonna die but picks up n carries on. other than this its fine but its a bit disconcerting when it bangs ! i have a 180dr kit, 24 carb, sip rd 2 exhaust and have just fitted a sip fast flow fuel tap. over to the clever lads!!!

hi nsaints and all, i have bitten the bullet and taken out the autolube ,when i decided to have a look at the clutch while i was fiddling about, the two gears that control the autolube were wearing badly ( second time this has happened.). i took the opportunity to clean the carb . i blocked off the hole that the autolube spindle leaves with a beedspeed plug, should i have shut off any other holes?? anyhow . its still taking just as long to start, it turns and turns and then slowly fires into life.it wont kick start for anything , until its been started. any more ideas ? could the engine be filling with petrol not two stroke oil? aaaaaagh!!

nsaints , what is your answer?? thats just what happens.and yes its standard oil injection. changed the plug, and it dont wanna start on the kickstart until its been running ,then it starts first kick.

hi all my px (2011 125 with dr180 kit 24 mm carb and sip road two ) is becoming very bad to start on the start button. it turns over ok but it turns and turns and then slowly put puts into life . rings have been suggested but im not sure any ideas???

hi all, i have a sprint engine running on 6volt stator with points. if i swap to a 12 volt stator with points, is there anything apart from the bulbs that i would have to change ( horn?) over to you . cheers fellow vesperistas.

with all you have done to the engine, i would try a 140 main jet . worked well in mine with the polini thingy

cheers chaps, will check plug and leaks. djloone, i have tried a sterling expansion, a sito plus and a scootrs own brand expansion and the sip 2 is by far the best for a not too tuned set up. pulls better uphill too!! think i may go back to a 20/20 carb and just re jet it, but then in the shed is a polini air corrector vortex thingy so may just bung that on first to see how it plays!!

hi all, i have a px 125 with dr180 kit it has a sip road 2 , 21 tooth clutch gear ,24mm carb . problem is it drinks fuel like its going out of business. question , what jets do you think i should have ,at the moment its running the jets that came with the carb and the numbers are pretty much invisible. also can you put px200 gears into a 125 casing? thanks for your kind and informative comments . i love a bit of p*sh taking too so fill ya boots!!

hola! i sent for some brake pads for my 2011 px125 (the re issued ones) and when they came they were the wrong ones. they have little ears on the corners and are slightly smaller across . my caliper doesnt have a round blob on the side that the pistons sit in , its more like a rounded off square. anybody know what sort of system (ie grimeca) it is so i can get the right pads.

if you have put new pads on, take them off and really clean the are that they rub on in the caliper , also make sure the hole on the pads is free of paint. this cured mine.

hi , got a vbb m1 engine with 4 speeds but 8 inch wheels, other day i picked up another , but its got 10 inch wheels and a px stator and flywheel . is this normal to have 10 and 8 inch on the same engine ? also anybody got a wiring diagram for px stator to vbb wiring??dj

hi all , this is my last question on this subject. what are the characteristics of A putting 10 inchers on a 3 speed 8 inch vbb b putting 10 inchers on a 4 speed 8 inch vbb . i have a pinasco kit on the bike and at the moment it wheelspins up the road like a wild thing!! thanks for any input. dave
