HI FOLKS, I KNOW THAT HAVING THE WRONG FUEL/OIL MIXTURE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE AND AM WONDERING HOW MUCH OIL IS TOO MUCH. IVE GOT A PX125 AND I PUT 5L IN AND ABOUT 110 ML OF OIL WHICH IS ABOUT 10% TOO MUCH. I NORMALLY MIX IT UP IN A CAN FIRST BUT I RAN LOW WHILE OUT CHEERS

Hi Zimbo, i had a rusted tank problem a wile back and used a 2 pack sealer which stopped the rust returning. It was easy to use, all you do is block the fuel tap and pour the mix into the tank whilst turning it around so the mixture coats the inside of the tank. Hope this is helpful.

Hi Stu welcome to the site. Have you checked the choke isnt sticking on a little? I could be wide of the mark but if it happened on a car thats what i would suspect.

Cheers everyone, im not really bothered about modifying the engine as i like to keep old things as standard as possible but just thought i may be going too slow. It has been mentioned to me that i should be doing around the sixty mark and was just double checking with folk more knowledgable than myself. Oh and by the way since a full rebuild a year ago (n.o.s) parts it is ultra reliable and i think with the state of our roads nowadays 50mph will probably do me. Once again thanks

If you're having trouble finding a decent scoot mechanic you could do a lot worse than travelling to Ellesmere Port to Turners.

Hi mate welcome to the site, although no expert id say the engine is siezed. a heat sieze will cool down and free but it sounds like a major strip down to sort this one out. maybe the oil/fuel mix was incorrect.

Hi all, hope someone on here can help, im pulling my hair out. The rear indicators on my px are very tempermental they were working ok one minute then the next kaput. The bulbs are ok and i think its just a loose connection as i played with the wires by the spare wheel and they flashed for a mo but now no matter how much i fiddle about im having no joy. The fronts are lit but not flashing and i have no light on my headset. ANY IDEAS?

hi there richie, among other things i would suggest a phillips and a flat head screwdriver, 10,11,13,17 mm combination spanners and i also carry a 3/8 drive ratchet and 10,11,13,17 mm sockets. packed well inside a rag with some light gloves these dont take up much room. dont forget some spare bulbs aswell. happy riding, john
