Hi all, hope someone on here can help, im pulling my hair out. The rear indicators on my px are very tempermental they were working ok one minute then the next kaput. The bulbs are ok and i think its just a loose connection as i played with the wires by the spare wheel and they flashed for a mo but now no matter how much i fiddle about im having no joy. The fronts are lit but not flashing and i have no light on my headset. ANY IDEAS?

Check that the contacts for the rear panels are clean, they do get gunked up and stop the connection to the wire that leads to the back lights. It's worth using a multimeter if you have one to check if power gets to this point, if it does check that the wire feeding the rear lights has a supply, pull the bulb and test from the fitting. If you can pick up a live feed then check the flasher unit, which I believe is inside the headset, again you can use a multiimeter or just replace the unit (about £6ish).
Also check that the bulbs are seated correctly, sometimes if I've had the side off mine, the right hand side bulb loses contact as the spring part of the base doesn't always close up.

hi mate, thanks for the tips. i do have a juice to to bulbs but intermittently. the flasher unit is on the chassis inside the spare wheel and wonder if changing this would help as my front indicators work. i suspect a loose wire but dont know where to start looking!!

I'd suggest a bad earth. Clean off the top lug, where the spring sits, and the rear hook and it's hole. If you've got a mutimeter check for power from the connector to the frame, if you've got a supply then you know for definate the problem is panel earth/bulb related.

i had same trouble with my px mk1, in the end i removed the indicators and filled the holes!! think it was the connectors shorting on the frame under the fuel tank!
