i run moves365's on the managements cosa , love em , never found a sticky-er tyre out there . all weathers/conditions never found the limit of there grip . they dont last as long as harder tyres but 5000 miles of safety for 32 quid cant be beat . H

Everyone will have their own fav's,
I have run Mich S83 forever, but last few years they have become so soft a compound I get no more than 1,000 miles, so time for a switch.
Switched to Heidenau k58 on my daily ride, great all year round tyre, not expensive (£25 ish), German made, happy with them.

I run Conti K62 whitewalls (not everyone's bag, I know!), but does anyone know of a decent alternative? Never had a problem with the Conti tyres but they do seem to be creeping up in price. I did come across another make (Schwalbe maybe?), but the reviews suggested they were both crap tyres and dangerous

just fitted 2 Michelin S1's to mine have only done 1 mile and not sure if they are good or not as felt like I was going to fall off for the whole mile. maybe that is because the old tyres were like racing slicks when I took them off and the new ones just need a bit of wear first. the S1's came highly recommended!!

all tyres can have sealing problems on tubeless rims not just heidanau's .its why i dont buy fitted tyres/rims ,you need to razor off the mould tags were tyre seals to rim an then there fine .H

Granted ive not kept up with scooter tyres since the late 80s..n back then it was just buy tyres..not a 2nd thought for make/model etc.surely they,ve moved on enough for all of em too be safe n meet our needs...i can understand sportsbike tyres having too evolve over the yrs as bhp/torque n top speed went up..but our scoots have generally stayed the same..playing devils advocate id say they should all be ok...disclaimer ..ive never heard of scwalbe or heidenau, are th realy that bad?..dont thnk they were about when i last bought rubber lol

Heidenau's K58 'snow' tyre came top in a Scootering Mag test which is how I discovered them, ran these for a couple of winters, the ones I've now got are the all year round versions they are made in Germany not Far East like just about everything else.
I find every tyre feels different, as well as the obvious grip level lots of variance in sidewall strength, some I have tried are too hard (usually those designed for tubeless are stiffer) and some too soft, like the winter tyres I ran which are soft rubber so they still stay pliable in the cold, but in the warm they are too soft.. each to their own choice.

Hi Kidda After reading about other scoot riders having pant soiling moments on tubed tyres I opted for tubeless as the magazines claim they are safer to use, other riders also fill their tyres with goop to stop the instant deflation if punctured and therefore make safer so this may also be worth considering.

no ,thats properly called "flashing" , i mean the little sticky up bits ,bout 4-5mm long an a 1mm thick ,the knobblies bits ,there all over the outside of the tyre across the tread . H

Maybe a bit of useless information here, the knoblies/hairs are caused by tiny little vents in the curing press when the tyre is being made so the air can escape whilst the tread is being moulded so you don't get a bad moulding of the tread pattern.

I've ordered some conti move365 and got some heavy duty tubes and gloop so all being well should have them on over the weekend,I'll report back with my findings when I take the back wheel off wether it was the tyre, tube, valve or rim that has failed, cheers
