I think Dunlop Scootsmarts are 51P not 59P; higher speed rating and lower load rating than ContiMove365 (59M). SIP Performers are only an L for speed, which is only 120kph. I’m very happy with the 'Agricultural' ContiMove365 too.

The Schwalbe tyre I took of was a 59P but the 51P is still an upgrade from that!

I liked the Schwalbe (Weatherman); I got through lots of them, but did have one delaminate a few years back. It’s a shame it was all handled so badly, not just by Schwalbe but by the Sole Importer, the Dealers and VOSA. – My Dealer ‘lost’ mine trying to return it to Schwalbe, after M.B. Developments had washed their hands of it all, so I never got to send it to VOSA, but that was also a waste of time for those that did. I’ve got three in my cupboard downstairs, and would have liked to use those and get more, but reluctantly thought better of it. Finding a 59P other than Schwalbe was pretty difficult if I remember correctly; I’ve got a piece of paper somewhere with all my notes of manufactures, ratings and prices when I made my choice. Quick general point; kidda’s two-up on a pretty standard scoot is a fair bit different from one-up on the Palossi Speed-Monster, so maybe 59M was a good choice for him, as H's mates Lammy might be happy with the L.

Thanks, mate, that's a very detailed and interesting read. Must admit I haven't, until now, considered all the factors that impact on tyre choice, pressure, wear etc. I will from now on. Sava whitewalls link saved, they're around £10-15 cheaper than the Contis, definitely worth considering. Cheers!

I've ordered some conti move365 and got some heavy duty tubes and gloop so all being well should have them on over the weekend,I'll report back with my findings when I take the back wheel off wether it was the tyre, tube, valve or rim that has failed, cheers Thats what i have but mine are on fa ialia tubless rims, they feel and look really grippy.

Tyres are on they look alright, just need take it for a test run see what they feel like, new tubes and glooped up,the old tyre had a thorn in it that caused the puncture and by the looks of it no gloop so lessons learnt, cheers for the input folks

There are several reasons why people opt to buying a best two wheel scooter. While some buy this ride for easier transportation, others purchase one because they want to have a ride and go with the trend. Just think about the fresh wind blowing away your hair while on your way to your destination, it’s quite interesting right?

bit concerned now with my Michelin S1 tyres just fitted as have realised that they are rated @ 62MPH and my scoot will sit cruising at 65mph think I may well have made a grave mistake here:(

ive loved em from the get go ,not found the limit to there grip in dry or wet unless trying too . are you sure there up on the rims correctly ,pump up to 45psi-ish an then release air an re-inflate to correct psi. gets them seated up on the rim correctly . H

there ok , for the money ,but theres better tyres out there for a few quid more . i run em still coz they look right with older scoots ,just got to remember there limits, specially in the wet .an they last too, tho have heard recent gossip the compounds gone softer an there wearing fast ,but will mean they grip better . tyres is a eternal "yours are crap, mine are excellent" argument /bull-pucky thing in scoot circles ,like the "which 2stroke oil" question. if ya "cruising" to the shops on a "italian shopping bike" s83's are perfect , if you think your the scootering lewis hamilton/guy martin equivalent not so good . So s83s no good H? 've got some s83s coming for my other scooter because I got them trough work on the cheap side. I love them, used them on all my scooters for years, but with the 'new' compound only giving me 1,000 use on the back of my P200 daily ride, they are just not for me anymore. Problem is they are made in about 4 different countries that I've noticed, so inconsistent, I've picked some up at a parts fair that were as soft as .... others are just so stiff on the sidewall and bead that I have really struggled to get them bedded into the rims even with 40 psi in them. Luck of the draw what you get.

New tyres are always slippery. Ride safely and more miles and they should get better.
