Went to work early and had a proper look. The clutch arm was stiff as a stiff thing, I cleaned the area with WD40 and hey presto Signora Vespa rides fine and dandy again. Having been riding 30 miles a day through central London this winter the under side needs a deep bath.

Wocha folks, yesterday morning I rode to work at 05:00 & had a great ride, the only thing of note has been occasional clunky gear change over last few days and as I rode in yesterday I had one episode where I couldn't get it out of 2nd to neutral at a red light. I pulled off in 2nd and after that the remaining 5 miles or so was fine.
When I left work at 20:30 I pulled in clutch and started ok but when I released clutch the leaver stayed half open and didn't retract ;(.
On inspection the clutch cable nipple assembly was in situ and didn't look like it has moved. The clutch arm joining the cable had some free play movement of 5mm or so. The kick start did not bite.
I only had 5 minutes to inspect as I needed to get train home.
Fingers crossed the clutch cable has frayed and stretched however I'm concerned re difficult & clunky gear change on ride in.... could this be from frayed stretched cable or more likely an internal clutch failure?
6 weeks ago I cleaned and lubed clutch & gear change cables and reset them and they have been seamless & smooth .
First step will be to fit a new clutch cable and see what happens from there.
Many thanks.

I run a B6 as I live & commute through London, definitely runs better than before on 8 & 7. Have a spare 7 & 8 for longer distances in my tool bag.

Ello Gents, I've been following this thread and managed to find this picture that shows Rich-Lean pilot jettting which I found useful to get my head round.

Hi Ironsloth, to my knowledge they are not for road use in Germany as they have stricter laws. They say the same for the SIP 2.0 also but they are fitted in the U.K. without issue.

Wocha PXGuru, well that was an interesting ride home. I rode away from work and it wouldn't accelerate past 1/4-1/3 throttle. I managed to get up to 30mph in central London through torque and low throttle then tried the A40 - 40mph but could only utilize the 150 torque on 1/4-1/3 throttle to eventually get there.
I pulled over at a garage by the Ace Cafe and put a 105MJ back in then adjusted fuel mix screw & reduced the idle speed which transformed the ride to a better, smoother more responsive ride & I could feel the torque like a pair of 20lb lead balls between my legs!
I reckon the: 45/140 IJ, AC60, & BE3 Smoothed out the low/mid throttle riding but the 116 was drowning engine as when I opened throttle over 1/3 it felt like I was applying ABS brakes.
Came home to find the Exhaust Gaskets arrived so I'll fit them and see what happens.
Out of interest, what MPG do you get from your 200 tourer mate?
I went from 80mpg down to 50mpg.... hope new jetting & gasket level out around 70mpg!

Thanks PXGURU.... managed to pop into Scooter Works & got a BE3 & 116MJ. I have a 45/140 IJ too, couldn't get 45/160. I fitted it all and it started on half choke on third turn of starter motor. This is it running with choke in and gentle revs to get warm enough to idle... will adjust mix screw when properly warm and turn idle down a bit too. Looking forward to run home in an hour or so. Hopefully exhaust flange/gasket arrives and I can fit it tomorrow to stop exhaust leak.

Ta PX, I've got AC160 & put on this morning. go up to MJ116 from 102?
So the AC & BE3 will lean out mixture and balance with 116?
I'll try get BE3 & 116 later on. Ta for your help...

Ta Henri, it felt a bit better this morning. The exhaust gasket/sleeves should make a difference when I fit it.
I do like the sound of the 150 with my SIP 2. It sounds a lot deeper the 125.
I think it still needs on idle jet & mixture screw as a bit rough on low revs even though it idles fine.

Evening folks, I fitted a Piaggio 150 Cylinder/Piston/Head to my PX125 2014 that has a SIP 2.0 on Saturday. Fitting went well, and all nuts tightened to Haynes Spec. I had to increase idle speed significantly and found the 105 MJ felt too rich when riding, I went down to a 102 which made ride a bit smoother. I adjusted air/fuel mix to smoothest running speed & suspect I can reduce idle a bit as sounds too fast at idle. Idle jet is 45/140 & air filter has 7&5mm holes above jets. The SIP 2.0 is leaking at cylinder outlet so I ordered a flange/gasket to fit.... My question is.... I am severe/profoundly deaf and wear two hearing aids. When I listen to the engine & feel it it doesn't sound 100% to me... I know the exhaust is leaking and fingers crossed that is causing the noise... Have I missed anything? There are no leaks around cylinder body or head. It certainly feels more torque on hills etc and I am only riding gently to run in below "80% throttle which I plan to do for at least the 800km recommended in Piaggio handbook. So gents please lend me your ears and tell me what you think.... Many thanks, RWS

I commute 30 miles a day on my PX 125 then spend all 10-12 hours riding a Pan European round central London. I don't mind the weather changes & treat the road conditions & weather with respect & ride to arrive sunny side up each time.

Had a great ride home from work at 01:40. I wonder how much influence the suspension has on "engine power/smoothness/efficiency" etc?
I remember seeing a guy cycle round the park on a mountain bike with suspension and he spent more time going up and down than he did going forward on a flat footpath....
The standard PX rear shock seems to me to have a similar effect, now I've fitted the Carbone my ride felt amazingly smooth & nippy. Perhaps it's the oil change last week? Perhaps it the rear shock? Perhaps it's my brain convincing me the money was well spent.
Either way it's such an amazing transformation.

Definitely the most significant upgrade I've done. Totally transformed ride. No soggy rear end that feels like a sledge hammer when I ride over a piece of gravel, now it's a harder rear end that feels silky smooth going over bumps.

Wow! I fitted the Carbone rear shock this morning and turned out adjuster to max setting....
What a massive difference in ride and comfort, it feels like a completely different bike.
Ta again for everyone's advice.

First oil change went well, I bought Halfords 80W90 GL4 Gear Oil as same spec as the Piaggio recommended Agip one. Also bought stainless magnetic sump & filler bolts. Always enjoy riding after oil change, it also only works out at £1:50 for oil per change if I manage 4 x 250mls changes.

Morning folks, I'd like to improve my rear suspension on my 2014 PX 125, I'm an athletic 16 1/2 stone 1970's style Rugby build and I'm after a more comfy ride.. some recommend SIP 2 - £160 are their any good options that don't cost as much or is it worth the buck and paying for SIP?
Many thanks

Evening folks, I'm doing my first PX 125 (2014) oil change on the upcoming 5000km service, I saw a video of a Balaclava guy doing a tutorial and filling engine with engine cleaner post draining oil and running it prior to refilling it with new oil....
What are your thoughts folks? Worth doing? If so can you recommend a good one for my PX please?
Ta Muchly.
