Is this when the throttle is fully closed and rpm is slowing down from speed? Hello mate, from memory as it was a short 10 min ride it probably was. We were riding in 30 & 40mph and rolling off from 30-40 sometimes to stop or just slow for hazards etc. smooth as silk when accelerating though.

Wocha folks I got to ride a mate's Vespa PX 125 with a Malossi 166 kit fitted. 20/20 Carb 113 MJ 55/160 IJ Air filter Drilled.
It did seem smooth & plenary of torque from closed to open throttle with no hesitation at all anywhere in the throttle range while accelerating or maintaining constant throttle however on deceleration from around 55-60kmh the engine sounded a little rough, difficult to describe. With the set up mentioned above what could cause or improve this please?
Ta Muchly.

Here's my NGK BR6HS plug after 560miles urban commute and runs. Engine is smooth from low revs to WOT. I've yet to do a proper plug chop as not had the time. Still averages 82mpg on 105 main jet, 55/140 idle jet & Sip 2.0 exhaust. 105 main & 55/160 idle

Fitted these 5 LED bulbs to the dash and indicator dash light is working at low revs and all the dash light are now nice and bright too.

Interestingly the only down side is the bulb seems to use more Amps to run so when it's been running a while and I slow down or stop the indicator dash light fades to nothing and indicators fade too, mind you my tick over is fairly low too. The web I pick up revs and do 40mph on A40 the indicator dash bulbs are back to normal.
Still looking for a decent LED replacement for indicators/rear lights & day time running light & dash lights.

Do you think the design has issues other than a lack of brightness, as what little light there is seems to be scattered all over the place. Is it the reflector, the lens ? Part of my commute's on an unlit road and it's interesting to say the least. Sorry if this is a silly question, do all bulbs work on ac & dc or are there different bulbs for each I do indeed mate, when I'm behind a tall Lorry on an unlit road I can see that the top of the Lorry is lit up by my beam like Piccadilly Circus while the road in front of me looks like a faint yellow glow. When I go to main there is a little more light on road however I think I'm most likely blinding pilots coming into Heathrow😂 The bulb does make a significant difference but I'm sure as you say the reflector design could be improved. I've had bean alignment checked at local MOT center while I sat on bike for accuracy and it was spot on.

just be sure youve a glass headlight an not a plastic lense .with halogen bulbs some people have experienced melted lenses as they produce more heat aswell as light . H Ta H, it does indeed appear to be glass. The factory bulb was a Halogen & I run on dipped beam all the time without melting.

I bought this bulb and fitted it this morning before riding home in dark from work. It sure is a big improvement on the standard bulb that didn't light up any of the road ahead. It is expensive at £31 but Halfords are doing 2 for 1 so I have a spare in my Bulb kit. Has anyone had any luck with LED Indicator & stop/tail bulbs? If so any good bulbs/suppliers you can recommend please? 2014 Vespa PX 125 SIP 2.0

Re Plug.... our models need resistor plug...
i.e: with an R in Plug name.. NGK BR6HS Champion RL82C
I found out the hard way as I went to a well renowned bike/scooter shop who asked year of bike and gave me NGK B6HS.... I fitted it, rode around block and thought all was fine & dandy...4 hours later it wouldn't start and CDI was Kaput! Luckily a proper Scooter shop - Scooter Works in SE6 put me straight with Resistor plug.
We need NGK BR6HS for short journeys/town rides as it burns hotter & BR7HS for longer rides to Brighton etc.
I'll try and do Plug chop this weekend and post pics.

Still trying tout post a pic of the plug, tried tap talk but it doesn't ever load up. Any ideas? These are pics of Salo's Plug after a ride, not a plug chop. MJ 108 I've posted them as his phone not posting pics.

Still yet to do a WOT Plug Chop however Signora Vespa is running really well & consistently.
I refueled last Friday after I replaced CDI & fitted the larger pilot jet. Since then I've done 188km on 6.52L = 81mpg... all in central London traffic around 16 mile commute twice a day.... that was pretty much my average fuel consumption on stock exhaust/carb set up so I'm very pleased with that.
I guess I'm not having to use as much throttle to get the power/acceleration I want and the engine is running more efficiently as it is breathing & fueling more...

Ta Bignico will post pic when I do a proper plug chop, the last three commutes of 15 miles in early morning & evening across central London Traffic & 40mph dual carriageway have been the smoothest most responsive yet with constant power pull without hesitation from 1/8th to full throttle. The idle pilot jet does have a part to play in low end throttle opening. I found out when I tuned my Triumph Thruxton. Top end was lovely but when riding slowly in 2nd around 2000rpm it was really ropey. I upped pilot from 42 to 48 and the result was instant smoothness and consistent pull same as I've experience on my Vespa the last few rides. My post about a pic was aimed more at salo, mate, but let's get a look at yours anyway with the 105mj Didn't know the idle had an impact at low revs, cheers for the info. That Triumph is a feckin' beauty, by the way! Ta, I bought it a year old in 2005 for £4400 with just 847 miles on clock. Then I turned it into what you see in the picture & sold it 12 years later for £2400 3 months ago & bought my PX 125 2014 with just 288 miles for £2450!!! So my Vespa sorta only cost me £50!! Not bad either price really

MJ was 102 Before drilling. I was worried about running lean. Will jetting down and changing idle jet make a difference? First thing to do is check the plug colour. Take a pic and post it up here, that'll give us an idea of where you are re jetting. tbh, I never touched my idle jet when I did this mod. Maybe I should have, the tech gurus on here will be able to confirm one way or the other. If it's a late model then it will look like this.... they're screwed in and often assisted with lock tight or similar and are difficult to loosen. I used a long wrench handle to assist with leverage and they came away fine as standard wrench handle didn't have the leverage.

Salo, what colour is your plug? 110 mj sounds a tad high, what size was it pre-drilling? RWS74, glad you got sorted! Let us know how it goes with the 105 MJ was 102 Before drilling. I was worried about running lean. Will jetting down and changing idle jet make a difference? Sounds like our bikes are same model. 2011 & 2014. Best way is to check plug to see what it tells you. If you have no other engine modifications then going down to 104 - 105 should be fine. Upping the idle jet has cured my horrible 1/4-1/2 throttle response while riding which is a lot of my riding in Central London. It smoothed things from closed to WOT and transformed the ride. Also started instantly on a cold start at 05:50 outside this am. Hope your tuning goes well.

Wow! Just wow! Rode home around 17 miles, stopped for fuel after 2 miles & adjusted air/fuel mix from 2 turns out to about just under half a turn inward then blipped throttle a couple of times to ensure it stayed same without changing speed & ensuring it retained smoothness. Then I increased idle speed a bit to a happy level and rode home. What a difference the 55/160 pilot made, it really smooths out the bottom end from pulling away at low revs and riding at low revs. Difficult to say if I noticed a difference from hotter plug as I fitted that & pilot together, also I suspect the plug will mainly be noticed on colour and hopefully lack of deposits if it's burning hotter on cross town 15 mile ride to work each way. I've got two more 30 mile commutes this weekend and will check plug afterwards for a rough guide and try to do a proper plug chop next week. Thank you all for your inputs & guidance & for any Londoners on here I can strongly recommend Scooterworks in SE6. g.co/kgs/auDDtiPX125E 2014 SIP 2 105 main jet 55/160 Pilot NGK BR6HS

Ta Gents what a day...
On duty 06:15. Booked AA to take scooter to Scooter Works in SE6.... they said it is CDI gone & can order one for tomorrow but suggested trying a couple of local shops.... I tried 17 in central London... finally found one in Motoden E8! Rode up on my job bike and bought it then rode to Scooter Works, attached it and hey presto!
I fitted it & also added 55/160 pilot just to see if it evens things out low revs.... if not will revert to 45/100 stock one.
Just need to get back to the shop when I finish in half hour or so. Can't wait to ride home.
Will update jetting/running progress soon.
Current Set up.

Certainly no need for a bigger pilot jet then Ta, Fitted the NGK B6HS Plug, it started it first time and I rode around garage at work at 11:30 no issues. 4 hours later when I was set to go home it started first time then cut out as I put the choke in as I didn't hold the Revs..... Then it wouldn't start I tried for a while then tried to check for a spark and nothing!!! Tried kick starting, bump start, electric start the works thinking I'd flooded it but still no spark!?!?! Work mechanics checked coil, starter relay, and other components but no joy. I'm taking it to Scooter Works tomorrow. ?CDI or Sensor perhaps. Gutted. Proper Gutted.

Plug looking better overall. I would agree the main jet is 1 over, 105 would be better. A photo showing the root of the electrode would confirm this. No need to worry but next time I would put in a B6HS plug too. Could go a tad hotter. All the black oily stuff round the rim comes from running rich during low rpm use. I would think a 55/160 will make this way worse. What atomiser and AC are in, BE3 and AC160? It is a BE5 & AC140. That was what factory fitted. I bought bike with 288 miles and no Mods.
