As far as I know you'll only get 12v A.C. without a battery Otherwise you'll need some sort of bridge rectifier to convert to DC

Drill works but takes ages, on the wife's old VW camper I just undid the number rail and rotated the numbers until it read the right mileage. Can't remember what a P2 speedo looks like inside

So what was the final resolve ? Did you change Gears and Keep the 10" ? Or Change to 8" wheels ? What are your top speeds ? Username: webrest Last Online: Jul 25, 2014 at 12:36am Doubt he'll be replying to a 5 year old thread as he hasn't been around for the last 3 years but you never know

Cheers H, not a spring washer but some mastic from a bolt hole Last guy used black mastic with no gasket to seal the sump plate last time it was off. Last P2 engine I stripped had been worked on by CD scooters and was full of hylomar, it was inside the gearbox, clutch, everywhere Hate the stuff I usually blob grease on the paper gasket to hold it in place and it's always worked for me

Mostly today, been getting to the bottom of the wife's Superfour rattle Since I did the clutch it's had a rattle at tickover that matches engine speed as you rev it. Spoke to my local bike repair place and they reckon it could be oil pickup blocked. Dropped the sump today and found more clutch in the sump and here's the gauze on the pickup So scrapped the oil in there that's done about 5 miles cleaned the gauze new oil filter and fresh oil and tada gunk left in the petrol I cleaned it with Good news though, no rattles ! Hopefully not too much damage done

That's a shame, do you know anyone that has either a Copart or Motorhog account? There's every chance they will sell the superdream for spares anyway, as by the pictures you put up, it doesn't look that bad. Not sure it would make £700 in spares and then theres the hassle of having stuff left over

We could but they want £700 for it, plus it' s written off as CatD

Thanks biker23, definitely meet up, insurance are writing the bike off. Just sorting out collection details with them. Missus made a statement today but they can't pin the superdream to those guys as there's no fingerprints on it

seized nuts( ooh er missis 😉) Funny you should say that I've been taking it easy, mainly due to my 12 year old son Zephyr twisting his right testicle. He collapsed in agony thursday night, phoned NHS helpline and they said A+E asap. Got there, checked over and operated on in less than an hour Apparently once it twists they've got 6 hours to operate or risk it dying followed by removal He saved his but he's walking like John Wayne Maybe camping in Cornwall for a few days starting tomorrow. Sportique on a back burner until after half term

There'a general bike theft epidemic all over the place judging by Facebook. We got my missus bikeback luckily but it was only through posting it all over various forums that Biker23 found my post and told me where to get it. Facebook group www.facebook.com/groups/409576932432607/

Cutdown eh? Do people still dare to do that these days? Must be regarded as sacrilege! 😃 This was the early 90s, it was a '59 Li as well

I look like a fat Eric Clapton, grey goatee. I used to look like Neil when I was in my teens early 20s, except I wear long shorts 24/7

You need to click on the pic in flickr, then share, then BBcode and choose a size from the pull down menu . Then copy the code. In your post on here just right click and paste Sorted VespaPbrochure by Dave Gale, on Flickr

Cheers guys, not sure whats going on with it as the guy in charge says we need to keep the bike as it's still evidence in the case. Not sure what insurance will do about repairs, it was fully comp so I guess it'll get sorted eventually

At least you have the memories of your neighbour with his mad stories, it's these things that live on. His Clan was on a spaceframe chassis, massive webers engine tuned to the max. He used to do the hillclimbs with it but Brighton Speed Trials was his home event
