Well it made the 3mile ride home...there is a oil leak somewhere thats getting onto my rearhub backplate...gear cables needed a adjustement.morrs needed a tighten aong with levers...sh*te i hadnt rode a vespa in over 20yrs..and with the screen/forks (and being used too the gsxr 1000) it felt..different too say the least..but im gonna love it..little more oil premixed into the petrol for its 1st few miles...pulled fine through the gears..upto 50 for a second or 2 before a sedate 40 home...might try a 10mile rd trip in the morning..nail down the oil leak.....im only on the road people!!!

Well done mate!!!!Bound to be a few tweaks and niggles; nothing to worry about. DO take it easy to start with though, eh? You don't want to arse it up before it's had a bit of a chance to run-in.

If you are talking about the black splatter around the kick start and gear cables from the exhaust, this in the 2 stroke world is called "splooge". Here is an article for American dirt bikes that spells it wrong but explains it well. www.chronicmx.com/dirt-bike-tip-reduce-stroke-spooge/So in summary, some very small amount is normal any more than very small means the jetting is too rich, usually the pilot jet

Is funny every time Easy to get the two confused as they mean the same. www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=spoogeBoth spellings have similar definitions. I like to think of "Spooge" as the American spelling and "Splooge" as the British.

Better the stud (or nut) than the casings............... Torque 'em down evenly and correct torque; you don't have to lean on them.

Most of you are aware anyway but a top tip is never to remove a barrel stud from the aluminum case unless there is absolutley no choice. I personally will swing an engine down rather than ever take the stud out of the casing. Seen so many casings ruined over the years. All the hard work that goes into an engine and they end up helicoiled (for a while ) Loon-e in your situation this seems like one of those unavoidable moments

Well done almost a tanks worth of small trips (never been more than about 5mile from home just in case) and all seems well...its tinkering time now..1st thing that needs sorting..my speedo..when i 1st set off it reads (not sure how accurate too be honest) reads around the 50mph mark as its running outta puff in 3rd then will see a indicated 60ish in top...then the speedo seems to die and drop down too 0mph..(if i stop then pull away again it stays at 0mph)..then nxt trip out it,ll work for a bit again then stp....before i start pulling bits apart..has anyone had this happen before..?..it common..? (i remember plenty of bouncing speedometer arms from bitd) and is there a easy fix..all the workings at the wheel end are new..along with the cable..its only the actual sppedo thats org...thoughts/ideas all.. youve extended forks ,my guess is outers bout 2-3mm to long .as suspension works inners popping out the drive as outer flexs . before cutting loosen bottom end an try n feed outer in a bit further ,spinning wheel as you do to let inner line up an slide in . see if thats it , but my moneys on slightly long outer ,take it out an bend it an you'll see the inner retreat inside outer .had it on the extended forks i built for mates lamb-chop ,afraid its trial n error time ,an if like me have a spare cable to hand ,took me 2 to get right .
