Looking very cool loon-e very retro Just a few things I noticed, these are probably all on your list already; Back light is crooked, CDi wiring to be tided up and rubbers on (earth wire should be next screw down), need to do something with the front brake hose it's going to wobble too much and is that front tyre on the rim the wrong way round? It does look the part, you can be very pleased with yourself!

Cheers Guru..yep im more than happy with the look..back light still needs a tweek..front tyre is on right (did have to go out n check the arrow just to be sure..front brake hose gonna be cable tied too the shock extension..that should sort that..and the little leccy gremlins should be sorted thurs when its off to be MOT,d.. and H..i have a multibike policy with Swinton im trying to get it added too...they asking for a full list of upgrades n pics..will see how it goes with them..if not Anthony Fiddler ins i know do specialist/custom insurance and they just down the rd from me...still hoping too be getting a ride on it by the weekend Thurs/fri should be a last tidy up of everything now its all complete too make it roadworthy...then comes the joy of getting the engine/carb set up sweet...Simes thread is gonna be my manual when it comes too the carb i reckon LOON-E

Personal taste aside, you've got to be congratulated with picturing exactly what you wanted, sticking to it, and remaining positive and patient with it during the delays, and for a splendid thread. It's a unique, stunning scooter. - Top marks, well done! It's been on my mind that you have engine running in and setting up yet, but the unveiling of the beauty wasn't the time to mention it, and you know you'll get everyone's help when you need it. I also checked your front tyre a couple of weeks back when you first posted final build photos, but I kept it to myself after I'd found direction arrows on the photos, and that you were correct – we had the same thing a few months back with someone else's tyres (different rotation front-to-back)
Enjoy the ride, mate; you've earned it!

its red coz its showing ya were it will never get too , theres a guy in rochdales slammed a cosa200 lump in one ,an that barely makes 45-50 . downhill with a following wind ,only way to beat a speed limit is to drive it over a cliff .H

What I like about your scooter is it's done to your personal tastes and you like it. I'm all for not conforming I went in to book my MOT yesterday and they asked what bike it was for. I said it's a Vespa and these two hairy bikers said "You can't ride a Vespa with a beard like that" I think everyone's got preconceived ideas what Vespa riders should look like and clothes to wear. I'm not a mod, I'm not a skin, I just like scooters I wear long shorts all year round, skating related t-shirts, Vans on my feet since 1979 (old skater), long goatee beard and sometimes long hair. When I get round to doing my Vespa, it'll be bare metal and ratty looking but I won't care what people think cos' it's mine

Cheers Mushroom..when i tell people i ride a vespa (bearing in mind i got a red mohihe hairdo at the min) the usual reply is "ahh your a mod" lool..i must be a dissapointment to em to hear i dj at raves/free parties all hardtekno/gabba..and cant fault ya footwear choice..Vans are comfy n cool..gl with your build ..And Nico the shop owner got the ape Mot,d today and speedtested at 30mph...they thinking about goin mad on the engine too make it a bit "special" LOON-E

30mph in the Ape sounds like fast enough to me, doesn't look like it would be very stable at high speed. Though I guess that's part of the attraction!!
How much did you pay for the lid, if you don't mind me asking? You imported it from China, didn't you?

good news djloone ,motted n good to go ,as vesps says take it easy for a bit . an that ape , whats to say , nearly just lost my lunch .good advert for shop tho, once seen never forgotten .an 30mph from a catalyzed 50cc ape , big cliffs to drive over near you or just the usual lying piaggio speedo . 2nd one i guess . an tell him from 1 who's watched others try to tune a ape n ended broken hearted ,learn to enjoy a slower pace of life or forever being replacing burnt out lumps .they have serious cooling issues ,only sorted for racing by cutting most of the bed away .
