Hi, can anyone advise how to fit a rear shock rubber mount to a vespa px casing. I have a stripped casing and the old mount is shot so needs replacing. Are they also readily available? Thanks in advance Chris

he means the bottom shock bush in cases i think , theres 2 kinds available ,the stock rubber one an polyurethanes , rubbers are easier but polys sharpen up the handling ,but are best changed as a set ,main mounts an shocks, gettin old 1 out is easy as ya can destroy it , ease a thin screwdriver down side n give a blast of wd40, then either heat gun or rag n boiling water to get it all hot an then a bit of threaded bar n 2 nuts/washers an 2 sockets ,1 just smaller than hole to force it out,1 bigger than bush so it will fit in to it ,if you aint got a big enough socket a bit of cut of pipe from a scrappy will do,bar through hole ,sockets either side an wind it out , you can lever/knock em out but the threaded bar is safest way. clean up the hole of any corrosion/burrs , lube with soap for rubbers or copper grease for poly , heat new bush in boiling hot water ,in a cup from kettle not on top of stove , bar through sockets n bush an wind it back in , stoppin near end an checkin its stickin out same both sides , some the centre tubes bonded to rubber an go in as 1 , some there separate an its easier to get rubbers in first then wind tube through , they can also be pressed in if youve a vice big enough ,but B&Q do threaded bar n nuts/washers an its handy for allsorts of jobs, H

Wasn't sure which, but as you've gone into detail with that one, I'll have a good read because it's a job I need to do on my other engine when it comes back out - didn't fancy it before 'cos I wanted to get it in before end of last summer - it's on the list........ Cheers, H

Hi again, thanks for the advice, seems reasonably straight forward. Do you know the best place to buy the mount/rubber (I'm guessing sip or beedspeed). Thanks again Chris.
