Hi, have just taken my fuel tank out to get to the top nut on my rear shock to find there's not one "or is there" I can't find the bleeder anywhere?? It looks like the shock screws into something "obviously" but not where I expected to. Would it be a case of unbolting the bottom and just unscrewing it without the need to touch the top retaining nut??? MK PX

There’s a little ‘how-to’ here: I haven’t done this job (yet), but from looking at my photos and some exploded drawings, the buffer itself has the bolt that goes through the frame in the back-right corner of the shelf, so if you’re feeling for it, facing the rear, it’s back-left. This is the best photo I’ve got of the shock going into the buffer, going into the frame: …and this cut frame photo shows the little shelf you need to fish around in. Hope that helps; it’s all I’ve got having not actually done it myself, but there is a nut, and you do need to get a spanner on it.

No, you need to get a (13mm) spanner on it. A socket won't fit
Lift the tank out, then feel under the top back section and you'll feel it.
It's a bit of a bugger TBH, and putting it back is even worse - a hint is to put a good torch into the area where the nut goes so that you can see the hole you're aiming for.

There you go fpb, the experts have put it right; don't f**k about with a socket - you'll be there all day! (Or worked it out once you'd found the nut).

Just hope its the same size as my new shock otherwise It's another trip to the infamous Allstyles Portsmouth to spend some more dollar.

Did you get the extender nut and rubber block too? Change the lot, much less grief than trying to split them

Wish I had read the last post from sbwnik,,, Pulled old one out this morning to find the new one was shorter!!! On the bus to the scooter shop to buy the extender and buffer, old put back in and working well. Although backs slightly raised more causing front wheel to catch the floor slightly but no real issue for me. Cheers again folks
