Anyone here remember the New Mayflower, Liverpool in the early 80's? I would love to see some pics from back in those days. There used to be a whole line of Scooters parked outside on a Wednesday night as I recall. I just wondered if any of that crowd were still into the scene after all these years.

I still have one of those little wooden trophy shields that Lynne Miflin made with the New Avengers lion on it! I went to Newark, Morcambe, Llandudno and a few other weird and wonderful places with the Avengers. Mick Pugh (think the name is spelt right) used to run it then.

I'm glad to hear there are still a few of the Avengers alive and well and still on the scene. I have tons of memories from those days but zero photos which I'm gutted about. Most memorable things I recall are (in no particluar order...) Andy Smith's beautiful Rally 200 the Brassy Bitch. The scooter of all scooters as far as I was concerned. Where everyone else had chrome Andy had brass. That machine was like something an Angel would have ridden on. I hope it's still out there somewhere! Dennis Hepworth kicking down the traffic cones on the way to Newark (I think) and the coppers sending him back down the road to pick em all up! lol Gilly punching a hole in the wall of the b&b room i was renting in Morcambe and me having to fill it with toothpaste and toilet paper. Getting nicked for carrying a mod bird as a passenger when I was still a learner in Morcambe again I think. Getting chased through Liverpools backstreets by a policecar and managing to lose them in the tight alleyways...although I lost a few wing mirrors And many many more. Great days Dave

I must well know you because we rode to newark together when the dennis hepworth incident happened.Small world Back in those days I sported the most ridiculous Paul Weller style centre-part and tried to back-comb it up. Because of this Pete Gore gave me the rather unflattering nick-name of Egghead and it seemed to stick! I was one of the younger members of the club, only 16 or 17 at the time and a few of us took some stick for being Quad-Mods lol. When I was trying to bolt on more and more chrome and mirrors onto my scooter everyone else was taking it off and getting metal-flake paint jobs and cutting their panels down etc. I really enjoyed my days with the club and the people were great. I had no clue about engines but there was always someone there to help out when I broke down or had a cable snap etc. Tell me who you are and I'll see if I remember you? Dave

Well spotted ricey there (stood out like a basketball player on the rallys).
I suspected even before knowing: that probability would make Avenger 66 really be "Egghead". A lot of people were aboard your smallframe at Newark and despite my teenage outlook at the time I still felt sorry for your little scoot as i saw it towing people on beertrays aroun the showground.
Happy days

LOL..i expect your probaby right Smallframe In fact I suspect your probably Pete... I remember crashing out after watchin Edwin Starr and as my scoot had no kind of ignition or steering lock keys in those days that the next day I woke up and it looked like it had been drop kicked around a rugby pitch..but you know what? Still got me home..thanks to the enginerring of a Mr Paul (aka Gilly) Gillbanks... (Conf) fess up dude...which Avenger where you? If you're Rob Wall I understand your requirement to say f**k all:) Now listening to Berts Apple Crumble on You Tube Sparky Thanks for the pic of Andy Smith ! Classic! You got any more?

Its meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I am in the photo standing in front of my PX150 which I bought in 1981 from the Bee in Renshaw Street. Can’t remember where the photo was taken but it must have been in the early days as I wrote it off riding back form John Haslems not long after this was taken. Mark I was going through my transgression stage then, the casual look but the PX still had the mod bits ;D ;D. Looking at you and Andy makes me wonder whether we were ever that young . Avenger66 – Avengers A565 update Andy Smith now living in France Peter Gore now living in southern Ireland Paul Dury (Clive) – not back into scooter yet but lives on the Wirral Mick Pugh (the stung) – somewhere in South America last I heard Lyn – god knows Denis Hepworth – still got his old scooter and lives somewhere in Southport Garry Hazeldean (sorry Gary you know I can’t spell) – member of Liverpool SC (A565) Mick Murrey - (sorry Mick you know I can’t spell) - member of Liverpool SC (SmallFrame) Geoff - member of Liverpool SC Ste Rice (That’s me) - member of Liverpool SC (Ricey) Paul Gillbanks – living in North Wales and member of the Nomads

It was Morcambe about '82 I would think
Dennis was in the Bootle "Catch 22" before the Avengers we had all little clubs going on then Going well back to 80/81 some members were Jonah, Spike, Netty, Amo, & me to name a few
Can we have a roll call on the "Cavaliers" which ive noticed that theres a few out of them behind you on the pic which were more the south end of Liverpool we were based at the famous " Gay Cavalier" in Garston
