.......so.....with the dealer not willing to cure the leak on the new PX, I threw the teddy out and demanded my cash back. That was 2017. Flirted with motorbikes since but kept an eye on the scooter market every now and then. Last week came across my PX up for sale on ebay-for £355 more than I paid new! Its got me looking again but blimey haven't values risen? Some ropey stuff out there for thousands. I'll be back in touch when I can spot a realistically priced machine for judgement. Thanks,Ste

i haven't a clue RWS.just guessing based on not finding any posts of anyone using a 108 or more with our set up. I pray the drop in power with the 104 wasn't a 'soft seize' i dread, just hope it was a lack of fuel baring in mind the motor was straining at 65.Then again, the 106 did see the same speed without issue.

please bear with me with this post. i realize my questions are pretty basic and boring but would appreciate guidance.Recap ,2017 PX150 fitted Sip Road 2 and pre drilled air filter. Had a look at the standard plug before the upgrade and it looked like photos i've seen on here resembling a good colour. Did the upgrades fitted a 108 main and noticed an improvement in power, easier starting but occasional drop off of power at high revs-i took this to mean it was too rich(did not look at the plug !)Today i fitted a 106 main and rode 4 miles at wide open throttle up the A1(M).Pulled in the clutch, killed ignition coasted to a stop off the A64 junction and photographed the plug it ran perhaps a little better hitting a GPS'd 65mph(downhill). Next up the 104 main. Couldn't notice any change, ventured onto the A1(M) but this time at WOT and touching 65mph i suffered a slight drop off of power-lack of fuel sensation or...could it be really really bad news? I closed the throttle spoiling the test somewhat but here's the pic of the plug with the 104- I cannot see any difference ! If the day couldn't get any worse, the leak from the carb area has re appeared- on a machine that's not covered 400 miles in total !! Refitted the 106 for now. Bit deflated here. Ste

cheers RWS74, still have a 104 and 106 to try, have to wait for my next day off work though. quick chop question- better to kill ignition at WOT then pull clutch or pull clutch whilst killing ignition with the throttle closed ? is this being pedantic or is it crucial or am i missing a limb ?

change of heart/fortune,i'm jetting it myself.will call to chiselspeed only if i am not happy with my own efforts.did not bother with a slide as i read too many conflicting reports. i gather from your reply i'm way too rich already with the 108 ?

not checked in for a while but here's where i'm at today-fitted sip2 drilled filter and the 108 main jet. taking it for a ride found the thing constantly stuttering(four stroking ?) at quarter throttle. do you reckon its an idle screw adjustment that's needed ? should i ignore for now and prioritize sorting the correct main jet first? cheers for now

in my case (2015 px150) doing the gearchange side would have involved disconnecting the cable even with loosened tube-i baulked at that, hacksawed them both off in 5 minutes instead.

thanks for the quick reply, what i was meaning was, should i not fit the parts until 500 miles have gone by? having said that, with the weather looking up,i want to fit the stuff straight away now. inevitable jet question- starting with a 108 be ok with my spec (bog standard 2016 150,sip r2 and drilled filter)?

here's where i'm at..had delivered a sip road 2 a drilled air filter and three jets 104,106,108 to try. my question is, with my px150 having less than 200 miles on it,is it a waste of time plug chopping for now ? i've jacked in the idea of swapping the slide after reading mainly negative posts about doing so(one interesting one mentioning blanking a doughnut shaped hole in the air filter to achieve same effect though).would you wait until the motor has 500 miles under it or 'just do it' as the missus always says !

hi rws74. brand new to vespas, bit of a reluctant fiddler with stuff. i'll draw the line at fitting the exhaust then i'll hand it over to Chiselspeed i think. I mention changing the slide only because i've read on the net(so it must be gospel truth) that to help with emissions the standard one has additional cut outs that can cause a flat spot- mine does have a big flat spot at take off that i definitely want rid of-if Chiselspeed can help there without the need of changing it,then fine. Limited info about the required slide but i gather the No.1 is the kiddie to have, then again i have read that folk have ordered this and received a slide looking no different to the existing one ! As i'm sure you can gather i'm out of my depth here so its a sip2/200 filter and a trip to Chiselspeed for me. Whilst you're on, what are your thoughts on an unlimited cdi ?

semi related hi jack. i've a 2016 150 px bog standard first vespa. Intend ordering a sip2 and a drilled air filter (possible slide as well) . Reading your thread and some others getting lost in the wilderness with the jetting, would i be right in thinking that taking the px to a rolling road shop (Chiselspeed 3 miles from me) would sort a perfect fuelling ?

VED doubles from £17 to a whopping £39 over 150c.c. surely, surely you don't want the government(agency) to miss out on its £22 p.a. fee ?

Change of engine number or cylinder capacity (cc)
You need to provide either:
a receipt for the replacement engine written evidence from the manufacturer an inspection report provided for insurance purposes written confirmation on headed paper from a garage (if the change took place before you bought the vehicle)

Going through quidco or suchlike can harvest a bit of cashback. Personally i should receive £22 back on a Bennetts policy price of £80 I took out today.

Will do. Just got the PX home and i must say being my first ever ride on a vespa and traveling a majority of the way in the dark whilst holding up rush hour traffic at times, i'm relieved. Impressed at the ride comfort alarmed at the cornering and almost happy with the 'go'. I've 'wheelied' it already at a busy roundabout and aborted a tractor overtake as well. I think this is going to be an eventful ownership.
