Morning all,
I removed the mirrors from the PX yesterday, but didnt realise it had fixings inside the headset, i expected to just unscrew below and above.
I'm assuming many of you have done this, and am hoping its an easy job which i plan to do tonight.
I'm thinking i must have to open up the headset? any tips.......
with my last new vespa i got them to remove them before i picked it up, but thought i'd give them a go, and after a week i want rid already.

an the left one fowls the gearchange tube as you unscrew it , so need to release clutch cable n gear pulley an slide tube out to get the fixing unscrewed from headset , i think but could be wrong the right one doesnt fowl the accel tube n can just be unscrewed , could always pop headset top n cut em shorter so they dont protrude ,or i'm sure theres chrome caps that just fit straight over an ya can leave fixings in ,not a job ive done in years so cant remember ,H

Well, i had an hour at it and i've drawn a blank. Headset off, took out the pin at the end of the tube, and whilst that gives a bit more play, it wont let me unscrew the fixing at all. I really didnt think i'd have to start unclipping all the cables. Looks like i'll have to cut them shorter. I've got the grommets ready

in my case (2015 px150) doing the gearchange side would have involved disconnecting the cable even with loosened tube-i baulked at that, hacksawed them both off in 5 minutes instead.

For mine (for the moment) I've left the metal bits in and taped them up until I can shift sh*t in the shed to do properly. Think it's headset off, then unscrew but can't remember....
