That's it exactly sime66. I'm still none the wiser even after reading your post. I'm very new to the scooter world (6mnths) . Do you know of a link where I could find out more info?
Thanks for the great reply

Actually I think he said he read it in a scooter mag and it'll give a 125 the same power as a 200??

Thanks RWS74 for the reply. The one I was told about was a lot cheaper, I THINK it involve shaving a bit off the piston and buying a spacer of some sort. When he was explaining it I was totally lost as I don't know a thing about engines. I know squish got a mention?
Not sure I've explained anything then, probably confused you.

Was told about cylinder barrel tune up for a vespa today. They said it's cheap to do and the improvement is massive, can't find any info about it, any ideas??

Went on the dyno today, had a 105 mj, I was running gear well too lean, they suggested I put in a 110 and then when the weather improves go to 108.

yes , do you mean the number or the make , both can matter . with vespas i stick with ngk ,with exception of t5's then its champions . the numbers altered by ya riding , all short town hops b6 , commute n faster blasts b7 , prolonged fast riding b8 . H Yeah the number, should I put a new plug before chop?

Salo, what colour is your plug? 110 mj sounds a tad high, what size was it pre-drilling? RWS74, glad you got sorted! Let us know how it goes with the 105 MJ was 102 Before drilling. I was worried about running lean. Will jetting down and changing idle jet make a difference?

Love reading all the stuff on this post. I've never though about changing the pilot jet and the effects of doing so. I have a sip road 2, drilled filter and 110 main jet. It's a bit ropey at low revs but I'm under the impression that is one or the other.

OK from memory I'm thinking it's a custard cream colour. Also I forgot all about the plug chop. I just found a quiet road and opened up but waited to get home before checking the plug.

Went for a ride today, accelerated through all the gears as often as I could. Checked the plug when I got home and it was a light sandy colour. Hoping that's the colour I'm looking for?

Drilled the filter today. 6&5 coz that was the only size bits I had. Put a 108 jet in. Haven't had time to ride it yet, will do that tomorrow.

How and when do I check the plug colour? Is it after reaching certain RPMS and is it through all gears?
Hope this makes sense. Also will I notice the change,in other words, is it worth doing.

Newbie question. I have a stock PX125 with a sip road 2 pipe and a 102 main jet. At the minute my scooter is running great. Was thinking about drilling the air filter. Any ideas about size of jet to go up to??

Thanks for advice. It's a minefield! Just want a bit of umph without having to mess about with the engine. Not really wanting too much top end just wanted more acceleration

Probably a silly question but would drilling hole 4/6 or 6/8 make much difference? Also I've since heard that you need to go up10% on main jet. Hope this all makes sense..

I've got a stock PX125, I've just put a SIP road 2 on and a 100 main jet. I'm very very new to scooters, (3 months). Just heard about drilling the air filter. My question is what size drill bits and how high should I go with the jet.
