Hi again,
I made the silly mistake of not recording images when stripping down the frame and now can't remember what wire goes where. I have a new loom that doesn't match the old one but is apparently for my scoot.
After plugging everything in to the front connectors I am still left with a grey and blue in one sleeve and red, brown and grey in another. Any idea where these get connected?
Thanks

I think the blue and grey pair are for a front brake switch, which you probably have on the new loom, but not on the old scoot.
Give us a few more clues though for the other three, Danny: What is the scoot model and year? Electric Start? What loom have you bought, from where?
If you answer those couple of questions it should be fairly easy to find the differences between loom and scoot. Are the red, brown, grey in their own sleeve, or with other wires? If others as well, what colours?

Yep I don't have a brake switch on the scooter.
I have a non battery 1985 px e kick start.
The loom was from allstyles scooters and they have palmed me off with the LML type.
The red, grey and brown are in their own sleeve.
Thanks Sime

Well we've got the first two sorted then, these other three have got me stumped for the minute; I'm looking at kick-start and electric start LML wiring diagrams, and it isn't as obvious, and I'm not that familiar with LML wiring, except they do a few things different in the headset; I'm surprised you've only got those left to suss. A few other brains or a fresh brain in the morning and we'll suss it. Is your LML loom non-battery? Did you get a wiring diagram with it? Have you seen my wiring diagram that I did for my 1983 Non-battery PX-E? Here: vespa.proboards.com/thread/4338/wiring-diagrams-nik(it's not the wires for the indicator buzzer? - wrong colours, but some redundant wiring that jumps out on the diagram otherwise)

I thought the brown could be the right indicator but then why is the grey and red in the same sleeve.
I have looked at auto start and kick start LML diagrams and neither match this loom. Maybe they make them with additional wires to cover alterations?
It's a non battery loom that I ordered but I'll give allstyles a ring later and ask them to send a diagram or help clear it up. I have a feeling I'm going to have spares at the rear also. Nothing more frustrating when you want your scoot back on the road.

The indicators are different on an LML; they have two dummy lights (L/R) and it's fed differently, but without both in front of me I'd be guessing and probably leading you astray. But looking at the LML wiring diagrams, there's not much red or brown in there other than the indicators, so as long as Allstyles have followed the correct colours you posibilities are limited - you'll have realised grey is generally the live A/C. I'd say it's time to give Allstyles a rocket and get them to fill in the blanks for you; didn't include a wiring diagram?!

Could be for the indicator buzzer and l/r lights in the speedo ? I've got an '02 Vespa but I suspect it's a rebadged LML because of those features and the VIN starts with C5TD I recently replaced the speedo and the LML one was the only one with L/R indicator I could find in mph

I don't have a buzzer. One of them has got to be for a indicator, I have a pink on its own for the other side.
Allstyles don't want to answer the phone today...typical.
I can't seem to match any of these cables up to the LML diagrams h. The only ones that look similar are the cables to the LHS headset controls but that's for a battery type.

both piaggio an lml have a habit of using 1 loom for battery an none battery px's .an just taping the unused wires out the way .same with the indicater buzzer ,wires are always there but apart from on cosa's rarely is the buzzer fitted .one way to sort it is to get a meter an start scooter an see what doesnt work an which wires go live to what switch.by a process of elimination you'll get there . H just had a 2nd thought ,non-batterys dont have a starter safety interlock behind horncast ,but ive found the wires taped up on non-battery scoots .memorys saying theres a pink 1 in that an maybe a grey too . I think the spare grey and red wires are redundant to me. I've traced the brown and it goes to the indicator controls.
Should the front indicators have a separate black wire for earth or is this done off the chassis?
But you're right h, once I get the engine back on I can then go through it better.
Thanks

Thanks Indicators normally have a short black wire that goes behind the nut of one of the mounting screws for the indicator body and earths itself off the frame
