Hi all,,
Just thought I would give an update for anyone that's interested or helped me over the last few weeks with the questions I've asked
This was the very first time I've ever attempted to do a engine strip down and was very daunting for me being a true amateur.
Anyway drooped the engine out 2 weeks ago and brought the thing home with me to my partners disgust after transforming the front room into my workshop
I slowly started pulling the engine apart with help from Youtube and the haynes manual
I found allsort's of damage to the bearings and oil seals which where all replaced from Ebay & Allstyles scooter shop
Once I replaced everything which was pretty much everything including the primary cush gear which was trashed I started putting the engine back together again using this vid
I spent 6 hours building the engine back up due to having issues with the main bearing being stubborn as hell to get in
After all that I took the engine back to my garage where I spent all day yesterday & this morning putting the lump back on the frame and tuning the thing.
I had one huge issue where I couldn't get my gear selector box back on the engine to engage gear but after finding a great thread on here on how to do so and some great advice from HENRI vespa.proboards.com/thread/4182/find-neutral-help
Well the things all back together now and running ok'ish it needs some fine tuning on the jetting and on the selector box but that has to wait as my CBT has run out and I cant get on the road to try the scoot out properly, have taken the thing for a quick run round the block and back but needs a real run.
Thank you everyone that has helped me through the rebuild it's been fun and a headache all at the same time but would deffo do it again in a proper workshop!!!!
