Tried this today, brake adjuster fed through the inside of the tunnel and secured by an extra nut. I'll see how that holds up

Cheers bryno, the tube wasn't on there when I got it. It's a bit of a head scratcher Jim, I'm not sure what you mean about the adjuster

Small tube was never on there, this is a '62 Douglas Sportique I was wondering if I could fit a tophat on the end of the ferrule where it comes through the tunnel by the pedal Just so it has a bit more resistance on the outer?

Brake light switch sorted, now I have another problem Back brake cable outer just pulled through the hole In fact it broke through the little ferrule on the end of the outer and prolapsed itself up the cable through the hole in the tunnel Most pics I've seen of old vepsas have a short length of conduit carrying the cable through the tunnel Mine does not Do I just stick a new cable in and hope for the best ? Surely I should have the little conduit like these ?

Cheers H Stupid Beedy's loom had two green and whites and one blue going to the switch which bunched it up in the terminals I've pulled that back out and run singles down to the switch to make it less bulky in there I'll try allstyles later

When you press the brake pedal it releases the switch and the button pops out making the circuit. Take you foot off the pedal and it pushes the button in on the switch

Today I've mostly been looking for helmet cams. Missus had someone try to run her off the road on a busy dual carriageway in the morning rush yesterday Doing 80 with a Citroen DS3 on her left knee pushing her into the central reservation. All because she overtook her filtering through traffic leading up to the slip road.
It's not the first time either So currently found a Drift Ghost S for around £250, got good reviews so far Unless anyone can recommend me anything better and/or cheaper ?

Argh it's been months since I've touched the Sportique, the missus '72 VW camper has been keeping me busy and sapping my motivation I've been literally forcing myself out there every morning to do the littlest amounts She yanked on the handbrake a few months back and snapped both rear cables. Jacked it up and started pulling it all apart First thing was the drum backplates were like rusty lace and fell apart It's a faff to get the hubs off because she's got some old BRMs on it and you can't get the split pins out with a wheel on. So it's wheels off, split pins out, wheels on, undo 46m hubnut that's at 250lb per ft then wheels off again Stripped each one down and snapped a brake pipe Both brake conduits were bent so I had to straighten them before I could thread new cables Every time I did one job something else broke Got most of it back together Friday and realised the drums are ovalled and it's almost impossible to adjust Picked up some new drums, shoes and associated pins and springs so hopefully bleed them monday and job done It's a love hate thing owning a VW but she's had it 22 years and it's part of the family Here's a pic of one of the b*st**ds that's been mocking me. New backplate, handbrake cable and pins

It's off to Copart in the next week, you were right Jim. They've only just paid out for it yesterday It took me tweeting to Aviva to get any contact going again and then a 2 hour conversation for my wife to negotiate the best price Now she's got a marker against her come renewal time. No idea how that will affect all our insurance policies

Took an hour to find it, don't think it's a genuine one as it has GE stamped on the KMH dial Back is pretty plain as well I did take the rim and glass off this one and put it on a Veglia speedo similar to yours though back view
