Ooh love an Anglia. Years ago a guy locally had one. capri front struts, 1600 Lotus twin cam engine, sierra 5 speed box, full roll cage, lotus cortina gauges and painted the lotus white with a green stripe. It looked factory bulit. He used to do the Brighton Speed Trials in it and it was quicker than his mate's Mk 2 Savage 3000E Cortina Havent seen it for years

Today I have mostly been buying a motorbike After trawling all the usual sites for a tidy Yamaha FZX750 ( baby V-Max )for the last 4 weeks I was left with buying a minter for £1800 ( 500 mile roundtrip )or a scruffier one for £1290 ( near Belfast, collection would be hassle) Looked on Shpock and found one just outside London for £600 with no MOT. gave him a ring and he said it wasn't running either. Went and had a look, he'd got it running by the time I got there. Offered him £520 and we left with it. Needs a bit of a tidy and clean fuel but I'm a happy bunny IMG_20170930_154412 by Dave Gale, on Flickr

which reminds me, mushroom did you buy back the Mrs stolen motorbike? No mate, they wanted over a grand for it in the end They paid out generously after the missus gave them a 2 hour phone conversation grilling She loves her Superfour and she's still got her KZ400 in the garage We got a letter though the other day about a new owner applying for the V5 for the Superdream so it'll be back on the road anyway

My CB250 cafe was a nightmare to ride. My wrists couldn't take the strain on the drops OK at speed but a nightmare around town. Knobhead who had it before fitted Amal carbs to the Honda lump and it ran rubbish at low revs Got rid of it in the end cb250 by Dave Gale, on Flickr

Yup you're right, tons of vespas in Brighton There's 4 on my kids schoolrun. I've still done nada on the Sportique for months Kids summer holidays got in the way, wife's a teacher and she gets 8 solid weeks off We did 6000km in the Merc motorhome, including 5 nights in Cornwall, home for a week, then a 10 nights bast through Wales and Ireland 2 nights in North Wales - ferry to Ireland - 4 nights in Newcastle Co. Down visiting some of the kids including Giants Causeway. 2 Nights in Castlegregory, over the Conor Pass to Dingle, back across to 1 night in Rosslare . Ferry to Pembrokeshire 1 night in Whitesands Bay and home. Stuck the motorhome in for an MOT and it passed - no advisories so we squeezed 3 nights in the Lake District last weekend I'm all camped out. Got tons of jobs still to do and the Vespa has been pushed back even further. Might buy a bike for a winter hack Phew, sorry for not posting anything Jim

Jim, I'm currently wandering around in shorts , hi-top Vans and an anarchy t-shirt Like Henri says Skate Punks Rule Good luck at the dentists. I was due to get a tooth out last week but went on the wife's bike and got caught in a downpour 10 miles from the dentist and had to cancel I was only in shorts and t-shirt

Right been away for a week so a brief summary Missus bike headlight not working, bulb gone I thought. Took headlight out of bucket, sealed beam. Toddle down to wemoto to get another , £130 nothing there else to fit. Cue biker mate walking in and says just get a car one from the parts place up the road. Off I trek, first guy behind counter says "oh yeah Wipac mini conversion headlight with H4 bulb but you have to buy a pair for £40" Second person says " We keep getting them delivered with one broken, have one for £20" Sorted Drove to Cornwall in the Mercedes Karmann motorhome, get to Portsmouth and lorry overtakes, drops a brick on the screen and makes a hole. Carry on to Cornwall with huge crack appearing. Call windscreen people who take 4 days to get hold of screen They turn up at the campsite, spend 2 hours scratching their heads as they've never seen our model Mercedes before. They give up so we drive home with more cracks than we started with Get home, take the front end apart ready for more guys today and finally get it done. Put it back together tomorrow not so brief but I haven't done anything scooter related for ages

Thanks ironsloth, we live 5 mins from VW Heritage and to tell you the truth they've gone downhill ever since Big Boys Toys bought them out. I've known Dave Ward for 30 years and VW Heritage grew from him doing mail order parts from his mum and dad's garage at home. He's a lovely guy but I've had so many issues with parts over the last 5 years. I've got some OEM ones from German and Swedish. Brickwerks are for T25s and T4s

Jim, Sportique on hold again as still fighting with the old VW back brakes. Seems like there's a 2 different quality versions and most people sell the budget ones which I've had problems with. Finally got some OEM ones Friday, so this week maybe ? We've got 8 kids, eldest being 25 and youngest being 9. We only take the 3 youngest camping and we've got hand-me-downs coming out of our ears None of them buy us stuff Off to Cornwall for 4 nights end of July and then Ireland mid August for a week. Big rush on to get the priority jobs done as the missus breaks up a week before the kids do Sportique on hold until September when everyones back at school

Today, I've mostly been making an extra bed for the camper. As the kids are getting bigger they are kicking each other through the night in the overhead cab-bunk Made a new bed out of 18mm ply and some custom cut foam for my 10 year old Fits behind the front seats Jim camera sounds a good price. I went out and got the wife a GoPro Session, plus extra mounts as she wants it mounted on the chin on her Shoei flip top similar to his guy's nerdalate.com/2016/06/09/shoei-neotec-gopro-setup/With all that and a 32gb card and it came to nearly £200 all-in Wind noise above 20mph is awful but I think that's common on all internal mics

Gothlife, might be an idea to get a sidecar and take the bike apart a bit more ? When I was in Newquay last year there was a guy with a Suzuki VanVan with a surfboard carrier on the side, I'll try and find a pic

Hey Loon, whats it like on pillion with an extended fork ? Is it a bit hairy balancing the throttle for a full on wheelie ? P.S. Your build thread has all it's pics missing due to photobucket disabling third party sharing
