Thanks for replying, I've already looked there as that is what I thought but there doesn't seem to be a nut there , do you think the fuel tank would have to come out ?? , cheers

Hi everyone, hoping someone can help I've just ordered a rear 4in1 rack for my scooter (it's not come yet ) but while waiting I thought I would try and remove the seat spike ready , I thought even I could do that but no luck it just seems to twist around and round . Is it meant to be just screwed in or is there a knack to this , anyone had a similar problem in the past . I'm probably just being stupid!! (Scooter is a Vespa vbb) thanks for your time

Yes the tail and break light are working, they had 12v bulbs in when I got it and they kept blowing so I tried 6v bulbs and that has done the trick for that ,, but as I understand the headlight and horn run off the same coil so that is why I was thinking of getting the 12v kit (new stator and switches) to see if this would do the trick but not knowing what I'm doing i''ll see what you thinks best, cheers

Thanks for getting back to me every one, it's a Vespa vbb 1964 but the bloke who sold it to me told me it has a sprint 150 engine in it as the vbb engine had no compression but I did take the vbb engine as well. I don't know if it's worth getting the old engine fixed up or getting the sprint one fixed up ??!! I did take it to a garage and asked them to look over her for me but all I can gather is he cleaned the carb and that's about it he's the one that said about the compression, I don't think he could be bothered to be honest!! It is running but he said not to go to far on it ?Also having problems with headlight and horn and front break not working, I was thinking of putting one of those 12v kits on . As you can see not a good start , is this something you could help with Henri or recommend anyone you trust as I've heard indifferent things about tj scooters , being new to this I don't want to be ripped off !! Thanks for your time everyone

Hi , just purchased my first vintage Vespa, having a few problems (surprise surprise) one being I've been told that my compression seems low and could probably do with a rebore and new piston , I'm really not mechanically minded does this sound about right or are there other things I could consider. Does anyone know of any good scooter mechanics in the fareham , Portsmouth areas , cheers
