If you want to go to the trouble of taking it off, stripping the paint off with a wire brush (ideally on a drill for speed) you can spray it with a can of VHT or any other high heat paint from Halfrauds, lots of colour choices.. for hand painting you can buy bike exhaust paint (I have a tin called 'bike pot black) which is matt black, goes on easy and contains graphite to disperse heat, its good stuff if you don't mind redoing it every few months when the rust comes through

The best exhaust paint « Thread Started on Apr 14, 2005, 4:15pm »
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't pay out for the crappy VHT exhaust paint and its extortionate prices - use Plastikote BBQ spray £5 a can and abolutely fantastic. exhausts get hot - but so do cast iron barbecues - this stuff is great Link to Post - Back to Top Logged

For those of you that weren't aware, Maniak's from Poland and his knowledge of British regional dialects may be limited, so go easy on him guys.
Maniak, we recommend barbecue paint, because Smallframe says so and what he doesn't know about scooters isn't worth knowing. I don't know what the Polish equivalent of B&Q or Homebase DIY or hardware stores is, or indeed if you paint your barbecues in Poland, but if you do, that's the best stuff to use.

Good idea on the BBQ paint, I have also used 'wood stove black' on my cars brake calipers and it stands that heat which is pretty intense.. VHT paint is £6 a can, so really no more than BBQ paint, and you have the advantage of a choice of colours if that is your thing but probably not useful to know if you are in Poland!
