Hi there, I started the Sprint after a few years of storage, fuel tank was a mess, had to clean it, disassembled the carb, and jets, used a needle and carb cleaner. Vespa starts immidiatly, it idles fine when cold or a few minutes after it was shot down, but when I ride and stop, it doesn't idle, I have to put a little throttle, I tried playing with the main screw above but it only goes very high OR dies. If I put the choke on, RPM raises, so I think there is less fuel going in. The gaskets seemed ok, no tear or wear. Carb is bolted good. When I spray carb cleaner on the magneto side, RPM stay steady, so no air leak. I suspect the needle or maybe the float, but they both seem fine. Any ideas?
Thanks Ilan
Edit: I was able to sort it out, although I don't know what was the problem specifically. I replaced the needle and the float, cleaned the carb again, replaced the rubbers, and base gasket. Works great now.
