Scooter jumping out of gear

I recently replaced the clutch seal on my lml 150(had an oil leak). It starts ok with the electric ignition(holding the clutch lever in) but when I attempt to put it in gear.... will it be likely that I just need to tighten up the clutch cable?

Yes start by adjusting the clutch cable , and if that doesn't work, come back and will work out the next step
