Are there any go to people for case welding in the UK, ideally in the north east?
I'm just planning ahead for a PX125 that I'm going to strip and rebuild before fitting it in my GL.

Take it chiselspeed, Martin will do a good job, but you may have to wait. He will machine and port casings for you as well.

Thanks, I'll see what I'm dealing with when I strip it then I'll get in touch with them. I'm currently favouring a bgm kit since they claim to give broad torque, they can be fitted with standard transfers if other issues consume the budget but I'm favouring opening them up while it's apart.
Just need to finish drilling out the swingarm bolt on a CCM, putting a MotoVespa top end back on, and finding out why a 2 stroke Yamaha breaks down if parked in the sun.

You can open the ports a little without welding with the bgm kit , but if you want to open up the full potential and open the barrel ports aswell the cases will need welding. All depends what you are after reliable touring set up won't need welding , a fast street engine will

I won't be touring or commuting, just local rides for fun. If it can maintain 55-60mph on slight hills then I can go a couple junctions on the A1 or A19 which would make it much more practical and 12 to 14 HP would probably do that. However I'm as interested in the project as I am in the riding so it's always tempting to do a bit more than I need to. I don't plan to fit a disk brake though so that's a good reason not to get carried away with the motor.

You will be happy with the bgm kit without case welding, I'm sure of that 👍

That sounds promising, I guess I've saved a job.
