HI, I welcome any suggestions.......... I;m new to this forum and new to Vespa's
I cant get my PX 2016 to start. It has battery power and what appears to be a working fuse.
When I turn the key there are no electrics / lights coming on.
All wire appear to be where they need to be. There are two wire terminations that come out from the the glove compartment right hand side from the light and not sure if they have been disconnected, if so I can't tell where from. I have added a picture of these wires.
Thanks

Hello there. The lights etc wont work until the engine is running I think the wires in glovebox are for a indicator sounder to let you know indicator is on.firstly switch on ignition then pull choke on and kick start the scoot with a little throttle on. If it dosnt start clean plug and put ht lead back on hold plug on engine. ignition on and press down kick starter to check for spark good luck let us know how you get on cheers alan.

Good thing is you have a kickstart to fall back on. Assuming this has just happened and all working well previously As said checking for a spark is first job. Try new plug if not Then remove spark cap and check if a spark, to rule out cap failure. Snip a bit off each end of ht and refit Take the outer green wire off the cdi and try for spark, to rule out a wire issue from key switch. Always do one thing at a time and return back after each item. If no spark its electrical, either CDI unit or stator. Have you got a spare CDI to try? If no spark still its multi meter time on tbe stator plate
If you have spark, check petrol. - carb top and filter off and crack the banjo bolt. Take petrol cap off to rule out no blockage
If you get running on the kick start, its obviously starter motor.... See NSaints post and his work.
Best of luck
Ps the wires in glovebox are for an indicator sounder

when i bought my bike it wouldnt start. the battery read 12.3 volts which i thought was fine to start a bike, i jumped it from a car battery and started no bother which made me believe it was a battery issue. i replaced the battery with a reading of 12.6 volts and had no bother !

Thank you and I will try all these. I thought when I turned the ignition before starting I had a fuel gauge showing level and light coming on? Thank you for taking the time. I really appreciate it.

I fact I will try one by one. Thank you for taking the time. I really appreciate it.

There is no continuity between the pins though. I am thinking a new CDI? Hope I'm in the right tracks. Thank you

Hiya yes that's the one you need same as mine bit ££ but Hay best to always have spairs CDI pedparts are quite good l use them a lot and never had a bad item !! Check out !! You have burnt out the CDI l when through 2 before I realised it was resistor type plugs and CDI so just get one plug in and see what is what if that doesn't sort it then you know it is stator plate or something similar !! Hope you up and running soon summer nearly out !! Best foot forward

Also the head lamp is not working and the CDI pin on the. right is for Headlamp..........I think according to: vcof.fi/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Vespa-PX-125-150.pdfThank you for your help

No worries and remember to keep to the resistor type ! And also remember our type of PX are not restricted but are more technical advanced than the old type so keep the faith and best foot forward ! 😉 Soulboy
