So there is quite a bit of play on back wheel, convinced its the main bearings, so do I need to remove the engine of can they be replaced in the scoot, is there a link to someone doing it in the frame, if not is there a link to just replacing the bearings, the rest of the scooter is running well so don't want to mess with it, Yes its on 8inch wheels. thanks in advance

Its easy enough in frame.
But its still a job.
Side casing off, gearbox and layshaft out. Bearing goes in from outside so is knocked out from the inside.
While you are in change the crucifirm but use a good quality one ie genuine piaggio or SIP
ScooterHelp website has some good information and step by step rebuilding

Hi so I split the casing and first thing I notice is the Needle bearing is completely disintgrated. destroyed, could that be what is causing the wheel wobble ? is it worth fitting new one and rebuilding rather than a full strip down

It certainly wont be helping For me if you have split the casings you have done the hard part. Crack on gearbox out, new final drive bearing, crucifirm, needle roller in side casing.
