Vespa 90 motor - Q for Smallframe I think

Caught up with my brother last week, he reminded me that the old Vespa 90 we had years ago had 90 SS stamped on the head (IIRC).. and boy did it fly ;D

Got me thinking that maybe it was an SS motor though the bodywork was full frame, F reg 1968.

Anyone come across SS markings on a 90 engine, is that standard? just curious, the scoot has long gone now

90ss and 90r (racer) both used the v9ss2 engine serial numbers and probably shared the same castings for the head.
