Morning all, anyone have any ideas why my p2 engine doesn’t like going over 50mph without revving the nuts out of it, it’s always been like this, I rebuilt it years ago , I did the timing correctly with a strobe light timing gun , it has the correct spark plug in and recently I fitted a BGM big box exhaust, it’s got loads of bottom end grunt but it gets to 50mph and feels like it needs a 5 gear ?

Thanks for the reply but the clutch isn’t slipping, the scooter just feels like it needs a 5th gear

Do you know how many teeth on the clutch? Should be 22, unless someone fitted a different one in the past ? Or is this a recent issue

I can’t remember now but it’s the same clutch that I built it with years ago, it’s just odd that it now fees like I’m revving the crap out of it at 50mph and it’s run out of stream, it wasn’t like this I originally built the engine over 7 years ago

OK so this is a resent problem, first thing I would be looking at is the clutch, but hard to diagnose over the Internet, just best guessing I'm afraid
