Hello there. I've just fitted a mallosi viton crank seal and I've measured the distance between the seal and the inner bearing its 0.25mm of a mill do you think it is to close to the bearing.ive a 9ball bearing in. and worried when pulling clutch in the inner bearing might touch the seal when I get a bit of play in it. there was a little play in old bearing but didnt touch seal it was a 8ball.ive tapped seal in flush.any help thankyou cheers alan.

If the bearing is seated correctly and the seal is flush, thats all you can do.
Make sure the bearing is secure between the casing stop and circlip with no play.

🤔 no idea, can only suggest trying it, and see how it goes, but I'm sure someone else can shed some more insight into this

Hi Alan34, I'm sure you've already mentioned it, but I can't remember which type of seal you have. If it's the metal type, I took Mista freaks advice to trim a couple of mm off the surround so that when you tap it in and its flush with the casing, the seal part is further away from the bearing and less likely to rub.

Hello there thankyou for all replays I've put a mallosi seal in but only 0.25mm gap between seal and bearing.when bearing wears a bit it will move towards seal when clutch is pulled in and worried it wears it through.I've seen on YouTube to use corteco seal and shave off small amount then tap seal in this will give me a bit more gap on youtube man gapped seal to bearing and got 0.30mm gap.ive got a 9ball sip bearing in which feels good but over the years may slackened and move in a bit.im sending off for a corteco seal and trying that thankyou everyone cheers alan.
