Hello there. Just about to close engine back to gether and I've renewed springs in cush drive the difference is double springs instead of single that was original. do you think it will be ok.also I'm fitting mallosi viton crank seals are they okay.i still cant find how gearbox oil was getting into crankcase apart from crank seal which looked ok but was a black colour so I'm thinking is it a cheap make.thankyou for your thoughts cheers alan.

The double springs will be fine, upgraded mine to a drt cush drive that can handle up to 25 bhp, I'm not running that high, and it works very well 👍

Have no idea on malossi seals, I get my seals from ve uk and just use what they recommended, for sealant I use locktite think it's 501 but don't quote me on the number, had it for years and still not used it all 🙄

Ive never seen a cush drive on a px without the inner springs?? The double is no problem Ive never used mallossi seals, i only use Corteco. Was the old seal all rubber coated,as there are two seal types. check the oil seal seat Casings with a groove in the clutch side engine casing oil seal seat these use a fully coated. The other without a groove in the clutch side engine casing oil seal seat uses the metal seal with rubber only around the sealing point. I use yamabond/3bond sealant, the grey stuff that is awful to put on but brilliant stuff.

Cheers gopowel. The old crankseal is a Rolf I put it in last time.i still cant work out how oil is getting into crankcase as old gasket looks good 3years old and the seal. so saw mallosi viton at vespajets also saw the brown corteco viton on there after I bought mallosi.ive got 3bond sealent I used 3bond last time. Have found cases dont close up to well when kickstart spring in in but closes when bolted together.ill see how it goes hope it was the crank seal but hasn't been in long.thanks for your cheers alan.

Rolf would be my second choice seal... Good seals. Corteco have stopped make seals for Lambretta, so Rolf is my choice on the bretta.

Unless casings sits good without bolts something isn't right if you have to pull it together with bolts be careful be very careful you can cause damage . They will fall open but if they don't shut until bolted oh my be careful . could you push them together easily with your hands it's fiddly but once lined up there should be very little resistance. Do you wiggle the kick start enough? Is your crank pulled all the way over? Go easy
