Now I am wondering how to tell how much oil is actually in the oil tank! I know you have the spy hole at the bottom but Hay what if you are nearly out! The filling tube don't really give me a clue ! is there something I am missing! Any advice most welcome ! Best regards soulboy74 ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ

Rule of thumb. When the oil goes below the sight, you have one more full tank left. Then probably just a couple of cap full or two left after that. So it's not a good idea to let it go below the sight, nor is it a good idea to fill it right up. Its a reliable system just check out your fuel gauge, would you want one of them for your oil? My fuel gauge acts like a rev counter. Bless poor vespa in all the life time of the internal combustion engine they never worked out how to make a decent gauge.

Hello I used to fill mine to the top but not anymore when you leave scooter a couple of days the oil drips into crankcase and smokes bad. now I've learnet fill it to just above sight glass.but if you go on a long run top up some more. Cheers alan.

Just a quick question now I have been using the sip gold label fully synthetic 2 stroke the experience one but after reading about how you are better off with a lesser type as that one is for more tuned engine ! I have opted for just the red label fully synthetic sip 2 stroke oil !! Now is it okay when nearly out of the first one to top up with the second ?? Both are sip and both are fully synthetic !! No don't mix. Be safe.you could ask sip they are good with correspondence. But I think the rule is never mix. It does matter.

Oh yeah and any oil will do so long as its getting the right amount, but of course the higher the quality the less engine wear(least maybe). Its a daft thing to scrimp on so I think you've made a good choice with sip , I've never used it but would trust it. Kitted scoots need the good stuff. That what I reckon anyway.

And of the big names premium oil, semi or fully synthetic. I like rock oil.

Dont worry about mixing different oil brands as long as they are same blend:full, semi or mineral.
Back in the day i travelled the length and breath of the country and many trips into europe on p2 using whatever the garage had it when i needed it. I just steered clear of mineral.
I have for many years bought in bulk to serve both my lambrettas and vespa. My preference is now semi rock oil

Nice one for the heads up l like the rock oil brand but I sure l read something about Euro 3 vespa PX needs fully synthetic type oils!! Something to do with the auto lube , not sure what But l might get some rock fully synthetic type in for when the sip oil as gone and give it a try , best foot forward soulboy74 ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ

I use Lucas oil, as itโs developed for 2 stroke chainsaws, canโt think of any other 2 stroke that works harder!!

Wow chainsaw oils l know Lucas oil and good ones but Hay is it synthetic oil ? At the moment I am just leaning about the oils needed on vespa PX and going with the flow !! But Hay l remember that smell of the exhaust from old and just wanted to have it back this sip oil has no smell at all !! Why!! Very very clean though ,is it ok to change your brand as you run out of your old type ? Best regards soulboy74 ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟโฎ๏ธโ๏ธ peace and love
