I know it's unlikely that this will effect many people here, but for what it's worth; If anyone is thinking of getting a scoot from Guernsey, beware the hidden costs. Not only will you need a new MOT, you will need a type approval and customs clearance after you've paid the VAT on the book value of the bike and not what you paid for it. I imported a Vespa to IOM and so far it has cost me over £150 for a £300 ET2. Mind you, road tax is only £5 and it'll never need another MOT.

Know what you mean. I was going to bring back a 125 from from Guernsey when I moved back to the UK. Was too much hassle at the the time for the scooter it was. This was 19 years ago when Prmmys and 125 Supers were fairly cheap. Now I wished I had taken the trouble to import it though, So I guess it depends whether the scooter is actually worth it.
