10 inch conversion to my Vespa 150 super and stumbling at the final hurdle. Having pot riveted the stainless steel backing plate onto the front 8 inch hub backing plate I was about to fit the 10 inch single post brake shoes when I noticed the brake cam is too narrow to accommodate the heel of the new shoe. (The bit the metal end caps fit onto) which spread when the cam rotates. Has anyone else dealt with this problem? Is there an upgraded cam I can source to accommodate the thicker shoes? Any advice appreciated.

Good luck , 8inch is fun but there are not so stable are they ,especially when one is booting it. Wish I could help but thats one thing I've not done.

Any advice appreciated. I have purchased two different type brake cam, one for early px and one for a sprint, hopefully one of these will resolve the problem. As an after thought and backup plan if I buy 10 inch hub complete with swing arm would it bolt onto my current 8 inch folk setup? More expensive but may be the answer.

The conversion backing plate (stainless steel) that converts the Vespa super 8 inch hub to 10 inch was drilled and pot reverted in place. What is missing from the directions found on line and in the kit you can buy is the need to change the brake cam lever as the old lever 13mm diameter cannot accommodate the larger brake shoe. The final link to make the front wheel conversion work was to buy a standard two part brake cam which was fitted to a Vespa rally. This is the same 13mm diameter but has a wider seating for the heel of the 10 inch shoes. All now working perfect. Hope someone can benefit from my learning.
