Hi folks Total newbie here , Just got an lx 50 2008 plate off a friend who no longer wanted it as it needs a bit of work done and was lying out in his hut doing nothing . It won’t be nothing for a while as he can’t find the keys , I have log book ect , I’ve known the guy for years , so there’s nothing iffy , If he can’t locate them what can I do ? Is there an immobiliser fitted ? Any help much appreciated , I’m just outside Glasgow Thanks

Sorry. If you got the details you can go to a vespa dealership. Or you can do it yourself. It's a ballache but doable. Even with immobiliser. Go to the dealership that's my advice.

Thanks for replies , Just realised how much quite rightly it can be going on a respected forum looking on how to replace keys, I’m just trying to find out whether the lx 50 keys would need chipped or if it’s a case of removing the barrels ect , Cheers

I don't like dealing with people so I would just pull it all out myself set up a kill for it ,chain it everywhere and be done, but if your more of a people person and want a nice scoot yes it's best to go down that route. New keys , barrel and immobiliser sorted properly. All very doable. Just alot of faff that's all. Don't know anything about your scoot but i know that there is no key you can't chip.. if you know the right crowd. But much easier to speak with dealership. Good luck they look nice the lx50. I do love a good ped. If you do it right it'll last forever.
