Sip rear disc brake

So I have ordered a rear disc brake for my px, can't find much information on line , have any of you fitted one of these ?

Yes it's expensive 😵‍💫 £300, but I fancied one for ages, finally filled my penny jar so it's not real money. It's the sip left hand version , as the mrp right hand one is even more expensive 😔 and requires machining of the cases. Have also upgraded the caliper to a sip one so it's the same as the front. Also had some custom rearsets made It's a shame I can't do photo's on the forum , if anyone could add pictures for me please let me know and I can send via WhatsApp or email

Disc brake arrived today and have to say it is a good looking bit of kit, so tonight I will pull the engine out and start fitting it, my only concern is exhaust clearance because I have a left hand side exhaust, but I'm confident I can sort that out

So I have fitted the rear disc, was a lot easier than expected. Only issue I have is fitting the exhaust. It's a left hand expansion pipe and it will foul the brake caliper, so I have spun the caliper and now clearing, but the exhaust catches on the supporting bar so somehow need to space it over about 20mm max, might get away with 15mm, so any thoughts on how best to go about this ??

No way scooter parts that don't fit . What ever next . Feeling your pain bro. Lefties are quite common sip should have warned ya. They're normaly better than that. Good luck 👍 don't loose faith.x

Yes I was told exhaust would need shifting over, just working out the best way forward, cut and reweld is probably, unless I can turn it a little on the manifold and pack out the bracket 🤔

Cut and weld, packing (the easiest route) will stress it and result in cracking, two stoke pipes due to vibration arr not forgiving... But you know that already.

Fingers crossed I can just pack it. Looking like if I cut 10mm off pipe at manifold end it will help drop tail can enough, so very minimal packing, to still giving it a lot of Looking at before I started, as it's an expensive exhaust I'm about to play with, nearly as bad as taking a dremmel to a nickasel barrel 😵‍💫

OK so this is easier than expected, just need to twist exhaust on manifold and then remake the bracket that's joined to the engine and everything will line up nicely 😁

Great news!
I was annoyed with an expensive LH SIP performer exhaust that was made to use a spare wheel. That fit like crap and had to to be manipulated, i found the weak point and had the welder out and it was fine after that.
Great pipe but im. Loving the R3!

Is the rear brake worth the money? Did look at it, but was floored when I saw how much…

Is it worth the money, it is expensive, I'm not sure if it is worth it, but I only purchased it for the cool factor,
