Silly question time please. I know the crank oil seals are fitted with the spring facing the crank to preserve crankcase pressure, but I'm not sure of the final drive seal. Like a numpty I forgot to take note of which way round the old one was. Should the spring face the gears or the hub on the later internal style? Thanks in advance.

Hello the spring always faces into the the bit you want to seal. So face it internally so oil is hitting spring side. Hope that helps. Its always the same with all off them the spring side is your business end. X

Is your internal seal hard to get in. Never been able to fit one to mine. Sure I didn't have a problem with the last casings. Is yours a real pain to fit?

Not too bad, it's more tricky getting the shaft through, as the shoulder catches on the seal.

Yes it's a bugger squeezing it through with the assembly attached. Its probably just my casings are a bit out. cheers .
