Hi there I am just wondering if it's normal for PX Vespa 125 to be a bit more noisy than most other types of scooter it's my first vespa l have had lambretter before and don't remember them being clunky in the 1st gear the rest is quite normal ish but Hay the 1st gear seems to jump in with a clunk is this all good or have l got a problem ?? Any advice most welcome ✊

Cheers Jake nice one just thought I'd ask about this as l was worried that it was broken in the gear assembly is there any way to get a smoother transition!! Better gear oil may be! I use that sip one for vespa at the moment !! Or is it clunk click every trip LOL ✊

Clunky into first is fairly normal, there might to a bit of wear and shim gaps might also be a little large, but you won't know without splitting cases. If you have recently changed the oil, just live with it or delve deeper and look inside, but that's for you to decide, as we can't see or hear how bad it is 👍

Hello there check to see if clutch is adjusted ok, then what I do is let revs come down to tick over before putting into first,I also push forward so the wheels ate moveing then put into gear this helps the snatch as the shifting cross goes in, when oil is hotter this helps clutch plates separate a bit as well happy days.

Did a check of plug after and looked chocolate brown that okay maybe a little bit oiled as well anyway thanks for listening just living in the sticks on offer vespa lads about to ask cheers soulboy74 ✊

If it hasn't made a clunk or took a half step forward your probably still in neutral old boy. Px Gear box's are real characters .
