Hi, I'm looking to replace the front drum brake set up on my 1998 PX200E with a disc brake. I know I need the correct headset bottom, master cylinder, hose, caliper and disc/disc hub. Will my drum forks take those parts or do I need the forks off a disc model? Thanks

When I converted my 1981 px I found it easier and cheaper to get a complete set of px disc forks

Your forks are fine to use, no issues, I've done it.
I ran my hose through the forks in the original brake cable route.
Include a better shocker as the standard drum one isn't up to the job.

Genuinely didn’t think they would be up to it. Italians weren’t really renowned for over engineering… 😄

I upgraded to a disc set up on my P200e a few years ago. Bought an LML set of 20mm forks for about £200, which had the same looking hub as the original. no need to change the headset btm Fitted the hydraulic cylinder in my butty box, so it has retained the original looks but with better stopping power. Also upgraded to a Pinasco shocker as part of the job. Only minimal fettling was required in order to make the steering lock work.

Thanks for the replies. Will my forks be the 20mm type? Used good disc/fork assemblies seem scarce and/or expensive. I was going to get the individual parts as they became available and use my forks to mount them on.

1998 are 20mm so no issues using own forks as i said. You can buy a bolt on conversion so you can use the existing drum headset bottom
