I have recently bought a very low mileage PX200E here in Spain. It has done a little over 2000km since new but hasnt been on the road for at least twelve years. It has been stored in someones back room so has never been exposed to weather extremes or damp. I am in process of cleaning tank, rebuilding carb which seems to have seized up pretty well and then will change tyres and try to get it going. The rubber seals that are visible so far seem to be in good condition apart from fuel and oil feeds which are being replaced. So far I am learning from an old Haynes manual and youtube videos. The scooter does seem to be leaking a little oil but so far I havent investigated this. My question is; should I be considering an in frame engine rebuild. There are videos that suggest even with a low mileage, age is more important consideration when deciding whether new seals and gaskets and clutch required. My inclination is to get it going and see what happens after that but is it generally considered that the rebuild is likely to be best way forward? Thanks in advance.

Hello there I would try and get it going first as it might show up any faults when running you'll need to clean carb and jets anyway. itll be nice to see it running let us know how you get on cheers alan.

Do the minimum to get it back on the road and then take it from there.
