However it's spelled, it is yet another snag on my slow going T5 build.
I have taken all the gears off along with circlips, cruciform dust cover. I'm now left with just the shaft, inside seal & bearings remaining. I've looked it up & it apparently should take a few taps & it will come out, only it won't. I've not read anything to suggest that this part of a T5 is different from a PX, so I thought I'd ask here, just in case. Do I need to remove the seal from inside the case or should that stay in? Looking from the outside of the case (wheel side) I can see the bearings, as far as I understand it that stays in whilst you tap the drive, am I wrong?

Copper mallet about 3kilo and give it a good whack. I mean be careful but it needs a good whack with the right tool.
